Overview
Qantas Airways Limited, or simply Qantas, is the flag carrier of Australia, and the largest airline by fleet size, international flights, and international destinations in Australia and Oceania. A founding member of the Oneworld airline alliance, it is the only airline in the world that flies to all seven continents, with it operating flights to Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America and sightseeing flights over Antarctica from its hubs in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. It also flies to over 60 domestic destinations across Australia.

Qantas is the world's third-oldest airline by foundation date and the oldest airline in the English-speaking world, being founded in November 1920. Qantas is an acronym of the airline's original name, "Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services". It is popularly nicknamed "The Flying Kangaroo" and has the official slogan "Spirit of Australia".

FLIGHTS TO PARIS CANCELLED
20 June 2005
Qantas has been made aware of an IT outage which is affecting airports in France. At this point in time Sydney to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) and Melbourne to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) services on the Airbus A380 via Singapore and vice versa have been cancelled for tomorrow. All affected passengers will be placed on the next available flights pending availability of seats and will be given meal vouchers and placed into airport accomodation at Qantas' expense. Qantas will operate more scheduled flights once the issue has been resolved to clear the backlog. The current flights bound for Paris have been diverted to Brussels and Qantas will pay for coach transportation from Brussels to Paris for affected passengers.

We are unaware of this affecting any other Qantas routes at this point in time, such as those from Sydney to Noumea and Brisbane to Noumea and the Cairns to Noumea service operated by QantasLink. They will continue to operate as normal.
