In November of 1995, the monarchy was formally abolished. Out of the ashes of the old world, the working class seized the reigns of power and set about implementing a program of societal transformation. this promised societal transformation as of late has yet to materialise much to the dismay of many workers and their families, half way through the month we encountered a wave of political instability and widespread tension as manifested in the numerous demonstrations and social criticisms of the conservative movement directed at the revolutionary government. Things came to height, when we unintentionally garnered the attention of our neighbors most of whom were rather quick to pour scorn upon what they regarded as a left wing abomination with strong anti monarchist and anti capitalist inclinations which they insisted upon branding "anti democratic" contrary to the libertarian nature of the political left in Belgium.
In December of 1995, our government or rather temporary administration engaged in a series of financial transactions which both the Conservative and Left Marxist movements found abhorrent thus prompting the call for fresh elections.
Elections shall last 10 days after which a new government shall be formed. The following below is a list of parties currently on the ballot:
The Party of Socialism and Democracy
Far Left
Left Communist, Favours the implementation of council democracy and decentralized economic planning as a means of building socialism
The Democratic Left Party
Left Wing
Democratic Socialist, Favours the transition from capitalism to market oriented socialism within the framework of a federal republic.
The League of Land and Liberty
Left-leaning Centrist
Georgist in orientation, favours a single tax on the value of land with a citizens dividend while remaining committed to liberal democracy
The Christian Social Unity Party
Centre-Right
Christian Democratic, favours a social market economy and a greater role in politics for the Catholic Church in Belgium - Generally opposed to abortion and same-sex marriage.
Pro Patria
Right wing
National Conservative, favours the restoration of the monarchy and a return to a capitalist market economy as well as private property norms
The National Salvation Party
Far Right
Clerical Fascist, Supports a strong state based on the teachings of the catholic church with a corporatist economy and a unitary administration
