The 301st Strategic Fighter Squadron would take off (in secret) with its armament, towards the Dunkerque-Lille-Calais region, They would fly at a high level of around 20,000 Ft until they arrived in their area of operations. Meanwhile, the 302nd Strategic Fighter Squadron would join take-off (also in secret, and also with their armament), and fly directly towards the border with Belgium at nap-of-the-earth altitudes, using their Antilope 5 Terrain-Following-Radar to avoid any terrain along their way (however unlikely in France's lowlands). 150 of the 200 infantry with MILAN Anti-Tank Missile Launchers would load up onto the Aerospatiale Gazelles of the 223rd Light Aviation Battalion, while the rest of the 223rd Provisional Light Infantry Brigade would being a march towards Lens, just to the southwest of Lille

Meanwhile, the French Expeditionary Fleet Detachment would sound general quarters as they secretly leave the Port of Brest, setting a course that would lead them from IN-JQ (for a total of 10 small squares). They would ensure that their Navigation and Landing radars, DRBV-15c Sentry Radar, Prairie Masker Noise-reduction system, SNTI-Communications system, and Inmarsat Navigation system were all active and working while preparing their fire control radars for use when necessary. Their plan of operations would be to park about 15km off the coast of Dunkerque and inform primary command when they arrive.

Arrival:

After half an hour on the road, the 3rd armour would reach the outskirts of a seemingly undefended Lille. Three of the WZ523 APCs assigned to the 3rd armour would enter the city being joined by 2 Panzer 84 WEs. Once in the city, troops would be dispatched from their APCs to conduct a sweap designed to uncover potential weapons caches. Orders were to be handed down from command, instructed the 3rd infantry to maintain their composure so as to avoid alienating the locals.

Meanwhile across the Franco-Belgian frontier, the 1st infantry would make their to Tournai shortly after midnight as things were only just beginning to heat up. The 7th Artillery would follow suit by setting out from their barracks and fanning out towards Namur where they were to proceed into Mons.

KINGDOM OF NORWAY
NORWEGIAN INTELLIGENCE SERVICE
CLASSIFIED:
SECRET & PRIVATE

800px-Coat_of_arms_of_the_Norwegian_Intelligence_Service.svg.png

The Norwegian Intelligence Service, presently encompassing the entire Ministry of Intelligence, confirmed that hostile Belgian troops had crossed the border between Belgium and France and were presently occupying the French city of Lille. NIS confirmed that the Belgian 3rd Armored Regiment was in Lille, and the 1st Infantry Regiment was entering Tournai. NIS was able to determine, with 100% certainty, that this was not a training exercise and that Belgium was launching an invasion of France. This information was quickly, and securely, passed to the Minister of Intelligence who had the information immediately delivered to the Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, Minister of War, and Chief of Defense.

As the French Expeditionary Fleet detachment arrived at their destination, they would fire their entire complement of Exocet Missiles, for a total of 32 missiles, towards the sole Belgian Naval Port of Zeebrugge. These missiles would skim the sea at merely a few meters above the sea level (where possible), popping up to detect and strike their targets only at the last second, roughly 6,000m before impact. The Exocets are guided inertially up until these crucial last seconds when the radar activates and locks onto the target - leaving CIWS systems limited time to react. Though the exact number of Belgian Ships in port was unknown, it was expected that these 32 would be enough to overwhelm their countermeasures and provide a high likelihood of multiple kills and effective kills.

Meanwhile, the 223rd Light Aviation Battalion would split up, dropping off 75 of the 150 MILAN-armed soldiers in Flequieres, outside of Lille, where they would set up ambushes for any vehicles venturing out of the city. The other 75 would be Zuydcoote - where they would lie in ambush of any vehicles moving from Belgium into the area of Dunkerque. The rest of the troops would continue their march towards Lens. The helicopters would fly nap-of-the-earth in order to avoid detection and to use buildings and trees as cover as they approached the tanks in Lille, which they would engage with their Euromissile HOT anti-tank missiles.

The 302nd Strategic Fighter Squadron would discharge their total of 20 GBU-24 Paveway III bombs on the Belgian Ministry of Defence and adjacent military facilities with the last plane guiding the other munitions in with his targeting pod and the lead plane circling to do the same form him. Which each GBU-24 carrying a 2,000 lbs warhead, it was expected that little would be left of the compound. They would then move on to discharge their 20 Durandal anti-runway bombs to cripple, indefinitely, the runways of Brussels Airport (EBBR). With three runways under 3600 meters, and the 20 bombs each creating 2-meter deep craters that are 5 meters in diameter, and displacing the concrete in the surrounding 15 meters, it would require extensive repair work to restore the airport to working condition. Once these strikes were completed, the 302nd would return to base to re-arm and refuel.

The 301st Strategic Fighter Squadron, on the other hand, had a mission with much more specific Weapons Release Authorizations (WRAs). Two by two, Mirage-2000Ds would fly into the area of operations every time, one would be carrying AS-30Ls and the other GBU-12s. The one with AS-30Ls would mark an APC with his targeting pod while the other would "toss bomb" one of his GBU-12s in the over the shoulder style. The one with the AS-30Ls would then fire one of his AS-30Ls towards another enemy APC. They would continue this until all AS-30Ls and GBU-12s were expended, after which they would use a similar tactic with their GBU-24s and BGU-1000s on the 7th Artillery Regiment leaving Namur. Again, with a total of 20 2,000 pound bombs, it was expected the 7th Artillery would face large amounts of casualties.

HSwMS Orion

TOP SECRET
Finally... Some Action
HSwMS continues to idle against the borderline of French territorial waters, continuing to monitor, report and analyse incoming and outgoing shipping in and around France. The vessel, remaining in-line with mission authorisations and objectives of Operation Molybdenum; an unrelated Swedish military operation of top secret security classification, is actively surveying the region. It is without doubt that the technical capabilities of the HSwMS Orion outweigh any currently deployed signals intelligence vessel in the region.

In only moments intelligence personnel within the operations centre onboard the vessel shouts across the room "VESSELS IDENTIFIED, HEADING ONE-FIVE-ZERO" - the deployment of the French Expeditionary Fleet being noticasbly different to regular shipping lanes, no adhering to common voyage paths and emitting a high degree of electromagnetic noise from onboard electronic equipment, radars, monitoring systems and other devices. This is immediately recorded by crew-onboard, numbers are reported to the commanding officer who, in light of a threat to the integrity of the ship, has joined the operations room. Sweden had never come into contact with any form of vessel in their extensive history thus the analysis officers would begin an extensive search for the classification of this ship to identify any potential risk.

Those on the bridge would begin the use of photographs to document the shape, formation and direction of travel used by the fleet.

The deafening siren is interrupted after three short blasts with the following command, repeated several times:
"GENERAL QUARTERS, GENERAL QUARTERS - ALL HANDS MAN YOUR BATTLE STATIONS"

It did not take long, with use of the photographs, to identify the shape of the ship currently sold commercially by Sparrow Safeguards as the La Fayette-Class Frigate and on the basis that all four identified vessels were exactly the same shape it was safe to assume within the operations room that these were all of exactly the same class or at least similar specification. They continue to monitor the French deployment, awaiting further intelligence from Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters in Sweden as to why they were deploying and whether or not this was in retaliation to any ongoing Swedish military action.

The Nordic Committee for Defence and Intelligence is immediately informed of potential impending national security risks to ensure intelligence is sent across all Nordic Council states.

At Zeebrugge, the Exocets utilised by the French managed to cripple the Navy whose vessels remained in the harbour with at least 2 Wielingen Class Frigates and 5 Baptista de Andrade-class corvettes being the subject of direct hits. 3 Baptista de Andrade-Class convettes would slip out of the harbour heading north of Zeebrugge charting a course of JO>JP>IP in an attempt to head north and evade destruction and capture.

The 3rd Armour, would deploy all 20 of its Panzer 84 WEs from Lille towards the town of Nieppe while 12 of the WZ523 APCs provided over watch of the area around Lille with troops ordered to mop up hostile anti tank formations.

Meanwhile the ministry of defense, the Brussels international airport, and several vital manufacturing plants were struck down with near impunity. Victory was no longer certain.

The 7th Artillery having suffered heavy casualties would request permission to fall back in order to bolster the Home Defense which was expecting to see action within the next 42 hours or so.

the 5,000 Infantrymen earlier deployed from Paris would arrive in the Lille area, Linking up with and assisting the Anti-tank troops in Flequieres. They would be ordered to engage any armed infantry or military vehicle in the area that wasn't French and refused to surrender. They were also ordered to husband their rounds, expending only enough to dispatch the threat, and being completely and utterly conscious of what was behind the objects they are shooting at. They were not marching into some contested territory, they were marching to liberate the sovereign Territory of France, and they were to tread lightly. They were not permitted to cross the border, only to push the Belgians out of French lands. The 223rd Light Aviation Battalion would refuel at Lille Airport before maintaining constant patrols over the region between Lille and the border, engaging with any tanks that dared cross the border.

As the 301st and 302nd landed at Paris Air Base, two Mirage 2000Ds of the 301st were refueled and armed merely with 2x MICA Air-to-Air Missiles and the centerline PDLCT-S targeting pods. The pilots were briefed on their mission, which was to perform Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) on the areas struck by the French Assault. One would be assigned to perform BDA on Brussels Airport and the Ministry of Defence, while the other would be assigned to performing BDA on the Zeebrugge Naval base, where the Navy had launched an Exocet attack.

The French Expeditionary Fleet would return to Brest (VIA IN-JQ), where they would rearm, refuel, and await further instructions while on alert.

Belgium would be offered terms: Belgium must all military forces north of the border and agree to an exclusion zone in which their armed forces would not be allowed within 10 miles of the border without the approval of France, or an agreed-upon third party.

The 3rd Armour would halt its advance and retreat towards the outskirts of Lille in effort to refuel and regroup before heading towards Tournai across the frontier.

Belgium's government would agree to withdraw its from French soil and would abort further incursions onto French territory but would refuse to demilitarize the border with France authorizing the 5th and 6th Home Defense companies to begin contructing entrenched positions and outposts to monitor and if needbe deter further military responses from France. The Field Security Police in Liege would be order to deploy its 5th regiment behind the lines to deal with cowardice and disiplinary issues that would compromise the ability of Belgium to guard her border.

By now, the Mirage 2000Ds would be refueled and would take off from Paris Air Base, flying towards Belgium with their nearly-bare loadout. They would maintain a low level and high speed to make sure that they could be in and out before any serious issues were caused.

As they approached the Belgian border, they would split off, one moving into Brussels and the Other to Zeebrugge, preparing their targeting pods to survey the damage and perform a Battle Damage Assessment. If they were challenged once they entered Belgian Airspace, they would be honest as to their purposes.

The 3rd Armour crossed the frontier back into Belgium, further operations would be discontinued with the 3rd Armour being attached to the Home Defense on orders of the high command to provide fire support and standby assistance in the field.

The Home Defense would be authorized to begin deploying to the border towns of Veurne, Ieper, Mouscron, Kortrijk, Tournai, Ath, and Mons along with several armed paramilitary components of the Field Security Police. Instruction were given to use lethal force if provoked and to hold the ground for as long as possible depending on the tenable nature of the situation in question. The Home Defense would be placed on high alert

By now the Planes would have arrived over their targets and would use their targeting pods to survey their targets and take pictures. The Brussels concluded that the Ministry of Defence attack had completely obliterated the compound and unfortunately damaged a few civilian buildings nearby, while the Zeebrugge pilot would conclude that a large, if not complete, portion of their navy had been utterly decimated by the Exocet attack, apparently being caught completely by surprise as there was no sign of self-defense and no Belgian ships remained afloat in the harbor.

Once these pictures were taken, the planes would return to Paris Air Base for debriefing and to standby for any further assignments. As of yet, this operation may just be a success.
