Brazilian President, Victor Romero's computer has been hard wired for encryption. It will have been his first contact with FCI in six months so he is nervous. Instead of reaching for a tequila as before, the newly sober President looks at his contact list, takes a sip of his Earl Grey Ceylon tea and starts to compose a message.

Greetings,

As you have a majority stake in the Embraer Company, we would like to speak with you about upgrading the Embraer KC-390. The KC-390 is capable of carrying a payload of 26 tonnes. We would like to weaponize KC-390. We would like to arm it with 7 hardpoints per wing and possibly a secondary fuel tank under the fuselage.

Through your connections with Raytheon we are looking to be able to arm this newly renamed KC-390A, with the total array of Raytheon munitions. I am interested in hearing your thoughts on this.

Thank you for contacting First Choice. Upgrades of the KC-390 are certainly negotiable with our Research Team at Raytheon. However, the KC-390 was designed as a Transport Aircraft. So, we suspect the Venture will bring a sizable investment. This is the Heaviest Aircraft in our Embraer Range. Adding 7 Weapon Stations Per Wing, might impact the KC-390 for worse. More importantly, the Maximum Takeoff Weight. Though... All of these Potential Setbacks will be considered in our Research. Do you have a List of Weapons? From this, we'll decide whether the Research is viable.

Unfortunately, Sales of the Mistral-class Amphibious Assault Ship are SUSPENDED. With so much uncertainty surrounding the French Government, seeing many Rise and Fall in Leadership, French Sales of this Type are closed. Our Relationship with the French has become unpredictable, with the HQ Relocating to the Netherlands as a result. Until First Choice are firmly on Dutch Soil, we will not reopen this Category.

Your Current order of Sikorsky Helicopters have an Export Fee of 20% and 1% VAT, as per our Agreements with the Netherlands and Great Britain. Charging just VAT, on Production wouldn't be profitable.

Dear Ms. Durand,

Thank you again for the quick reply. You are perhaps again correct in the point that 7 hard points per wing wold be too much for the proposed KC390A. However, given its maximum payload of just over 27000kg, we could install bomb bays instead of using hardpoints on the wings.

And given that the maximum take off weight is a little over 80,000kg, as the the internal structure was designed to carry troops and equipment will no longer be used in this model, this surplus in weight could be used for extra fuel tanks, a 40,000kg bomb bay capacity, 10,000kgs per bomb bay, and with extra fuel tanks be able to allow the KC-390A to have a range of 10,000km (it already has a range of 8500km with fuselage tanks) and a service ceiling of 50,000 feet, with the ability to be refueled in flight.

As are as the Raytheon weapons we would like the KC-390A to be able to armed with the following:

x 24 GBU-31 JDAM GPS guided bombs

x 24 AGM-158 JASSM

x 24 Mk-84 general purpose bombs

x 24 CBU-87/89/CBU-97 Cluster Bomb Units

We understand there may be some requests that cannot be fulfilled to due to certain agreements with other countries, but from this blueprint you can see what we are aiming for.

The Payload can definitely be substituted elsewhere, especially fuel to extend Maximum Range. However, this dramatically changes depending on the Payload? Using a Maximum weight of 26 Tons (For example) to distribute on the fuselage would give us a small, 2,110KM... Considering the nature of this upgrade will transform the Embraer KC-390 into a Combat Aircraft to attack ground and naval targets, this Range is far too restrictive. Our Research Team at Raytheon will need to calculate the Additional Weight for each Weapon System, but I reckon a range of 10,000KM as you intended is not achievable. This is comparing the data with the likes of the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress.

Moving on, the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) that you've requested is a Boeing Product. So, this is not something we can offer without collaborating with the United States?
Would you require the AGM-158 JASSM or the JASSM-ER? The ER Variant is for Extended Range of 500KM or more, and is more efficient than our original JASSM.
The MK-84 General Purpose Bombs is a General Dynamics Product. Though we provide the precision-guided munitions, First Choice requires the United States approval.

Perhaps we can put the talk of converting airliners to bombers to rest for the moment.

Brazil has the Embraer Lineage 1000, but the 8500km range is not sufficient say we want to visit a country in the Middle East or North Asia. Could you help us exiting the range to 10,000km or 12,000km? Enough to reach Tehran, Moscow, Seoul or Beijing without refueling?

We would also need defensive measures in place and an ability for our Embraer KC-130' to refuel it in air as may need. Right now the Embrarer 1000 lacks this capability.
