Minister Silveíra,

With the end of the Transitional Government and the establishment of the Monarchy in Brazil, it would be of Brazil's, and possibly Portugal's, interest, for a return to the close relationship both of our nations upheld for many years. The Department of International Relations, upon request of his Majesty's Government, wishes for a meeting between His Highness, the Crown Prince of Brazil, Dom Bertrand and his Majesty, Dom Duarte Pio I, to discuss various topics regarding both nations and their cooperation.

Dom Galego:

It is of my most honorable duty to inform you that Portugal is more than willing to formally establish relations between both of our sovereign and dignified nations. As Brazil is considered as one of Portugal's closest friends, we are enthusiastic in finally establishing relations with Brazil. I shall notify the Prime Minister and His Majesty of this request. Give us the date and time of this event, and we shall see to it to make it happen. It is always a pleasure for me to open-up relations with our Lusophone cousins.

As a side-note, my peers and I actually have drafts here for a possible Portuguese-Brazilian partnership, 'alliance' if you may well call it that. I shall send some of my representatives with these files so as to show you what we already have made in store. Plans so as to further push both of our nations in strong bonds with one another.

As Brazil is currently celebrating an event, it may take a short time before the meeting can be made, however, a meeting can be arranged in the coming days after the Festival has been finished. On the Partnership, such an "Alliance" can be spoken about in the meeting, his majesty is pleased to hear of a project for cooperation between both of our great nations, historically connected as our people are

The NVe "Cisne Branco" had sailed off from Rio de Janeiro to Lisbon, once close to the harbours in the Belém district it contacted the port, requesting permission to dock, inside the vessel, was his highness, the Crown Prince of Brazil, accompanied by the Brazilian Ambassador to Portugal.
The Crown Prince stared off at the city as the ship approached it, "I remember back when my family still lived here our lives weren't easy, but we still made the best out of it..'' the Ambassador looked over to the Prince "His Highness' family must have gone through much hardship when they first arrived..'' The Prince responded ''Indeed..but it's all in the past now'' The Ambassador turned back to the city, as the ship awaited permission to dock.

"NVe Cisne Branco, you are hereby cleared for dock, a patrol boat would escort you to your assigned position. Welcome to Portugal."


After the events of the British Visit, Brazil was up next. This time however, was different. Media was quick to pick up the event and ran to the dockyards to document the entire thing. As numerous reporters talked away to their microphones, Police were quick to control the event.

"Your Highness, it is of my utmost importance to inform you that the Brazilians have arrived."

"Very well, may the ceremonies commence!"

A convoy would then be initiated by the orders of the king, and would make their way to the docks. A Welcoming ceremony would be held at the Queluz Royal Palace. Once home of the numerous monarchs of the Portuguese Bloodline.

With the permission to dock being granted to the NVe "Cisne Branco", the tall ship approached the docks, being escorted by the Portuguese patrol ship, the Prince and the Ambassador watched as the population approached the dockyard, the Prince chuckled "Well, it seems like our visit is causing quite the Ruckus" the ambassador nodded with a smile, soon, the ship finally docked on the docks, the Ambassador and the Prince soon stepped out of the ship, the Prince greeting the civilians and reporters with a warm smile, the Ambassador looking around for the Portuguese officials.
Once he found the convoy, he motioned to the Prince, who walked with the Ambassador towards the convoy, they'd move past the various civilians and news reporters who stood behind the police, who opened a path to the convoy for the two Brazilian Representatives.

A patron would bow his head before speaking. He was Dom Dionísio Cristóvão Nogueira, Minister for national security. Along with him are associates from the Ministry of Foreign affairs, and some royal guards in parade uniform.

"We welcome you to Lisbon your highness, we believe that the journey here is pleasant enough. The crowd is more than eager to see you."

He pauses for an answer and motions to the red carpet that was laid to the convoy, after the Brazilians have entered their respective vehicles, they would make their way to the palace. the ride would be fairly quick, as the traffic was diverted to accommodate the Realm's guests. Eventually, after a few moments, the convoy would arrive to the Royal Palace.

The King himself would wait at the front door of the palace, already carpeted with a blue-green-blue pattern, representing both of the Royal parties involved. Along with him is the royal family, and the Foreign Affairs minister carrying documents for the incoming meetings. The King would wave to the convoy as the crowd would follow. A perimiter would be established for the safety of everyone involved.

"It's good to come back to Lisbon, not as an exiled man, but as a representative of my Homeland, On behalf of my brother, His Majesty, the Emperor of Brazil, We're thankful for accepting the Meeting request" The Prince smiled, before making his way to the vehicle that awaited them, the Ambassador for Brazil, João Rodrigues de Souza, shook hands with the Minister before getting into the vehicle, soon, as the convoy arrived at the royal palace, the Ambassador and the Crown Prince both left the vehicle, the Prince smiling warmly and waving back as the two Brazilians walked towards the front door of the Palace, where the Royal Family stood, once there, both of them would bow their heads down in a respectful manner, the Ambassador spoke "Your Highness, we'd like to thank you for accepting to meet us along with your Family, may this meeting be advantageous and fruitful for both of our countries"

"Of course, it is of my honor to welcome back our Brazilian cousins. Regarding the meeting however, I am very sure that this would lay to a foundation of a wonderful relationship that would stand for generations to come."

The King would then let out a sweet smile before looking at the crowd in front of them. Eventually after a few minutes, the royals would be escorted to the main venue not far from the entrance, and were instructed to sit down and attend the welcoming ceremony. After a few minutes the King would give out a speech, talking about a future where Portuguese-Brazilian relations would hopefully stand against the test of time.

He would then step down, as photographers would ask the families for a photo, documenting the historical event. After a few shots, the King would turn to their Brazilian guests.

"Lets not waste time shall we?"

The King would motion the party to follow him as they made their way inside the palace. Guards were present at every corner, and they made their meeting of utmost importance.

"Tell me young prince, how are things back in Brazil?"

He would wait for an answer and move on. The walls filled with intricate paintings showcasing Portugal's rich history. They would then be at the foot of a very large door. As the old 18th-century door creaked its way open, the palace guests were greeted with the calming rays of sunshine. The room was lit-up with a wonderful yellow, and a large wooden table was in the middle. The table was donned with the royal colors of the Braganza family.

The Crown Prince and the Ambassador followed him inside, the Prince smiling "Ah, Well, it is safe to say that we've inherited a country left in a precarious state by the republic, so We're currently trying to revert that" he'd chuckle "My Brother has been a Busy Emperor ever since he was Crowned, our new government has been passing reforms and projects to try and put Brazil in the correct path" he'd look around the room "I have to say, this is a gorgeous Palace, your majesty".

"It's as gorgeous as our ancestors can make it, truly a splendid sight to behold." The king would answer with such awe.

The guests would be asked to sit down on their assigned seats as the Portuguese would follow suit. A server would enter the room carrying water for anyone who were thirsty from the busy day. Minutes would be allowed to pass for preparations on the meeting itself and not before long, the Portuguese Foreign Minister would kindly start the negotiations.

"Fellow Brazilians, Hiis majesty the King of Portugal and his subjects would humbly welcome you to Lisbon. To formally start this meeting, may I ask from you if you have anything to say before I shall propose the treaties? Perhaps you have a couple of documents waiting for our hearing?"

The Minister would smile at his guests as he eagerly waits for their answer.

The Prince shook his head before speaking "On Behalf of his Majesty, the emperor of Brazil, we wish for a Diplomatic approach between both of our countries, hopefully, such an approachment can start with this meeting" the Ambassador nodded, before speaking himself "Now, we are curious to see which treaties you wish to propose" the Prince smiled, awaiting the treaties that the Portuguese officials wished to propose.

"Well, we were thinking on making a new organization between our two nations; to further solidify our Portuguese-Brazilian heritage, and to ensure that both of our nations would help one another in times of need."

The Minister would hand over a copy of the document within his briefcase.

"It is merely a draft, and if you wish to have any changes on any of the articles mentioned, please feel free to suggest them your majesty."

"I myself have read the document, and so far, I am content with what my advisers had written."

The King would laugh before looking back at his guests.

the Prince and the Ambassador looked through the Document "All seems correct, however, I believe an official copy of the treaty should be made to be brought to Brazil, as one of the two founding nations of the Treaty, and, come to think of it, What shall we name such an Organization? Don't think the British would be too happy with us calling it "Commonwealth" too" The Prince chuckled Ambassador spoke "I believe such a thing can be decided in time, no ?" the Ambassador looked over to the Portuguese representatives

"As mentioned in Article 14, Brazil shall have a copy of the treaty in question. Portugal would only hold the original documents. We can arrange for the transfer of the official and original signed document to Brazil right after this meeting. "

The Minister would reply in delight.

To The 'Lusophone Commonwealth' was simply a placeholder, we have a couple of names that we had acquired."

The Minister would smile as he tells his Brazilian counterparts. He would then pause and would think before pulling out another set of documents from a briefcase.

"I had a couple of things in mind; mainly,

• Community of Portuguese Language Countries (Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa)
• League of Lusophone Nations (Liga das Nações Lusófonas)
• Lusophonic Organization of Free States (Organização Lusofônica de Estados Livres)
• Union of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (União dos Países de Língua Portuguesa)

If you have any other suggestions for the name, please, feel free to raise your concerns."

The Portuguese would eagerly wait for the Brazilians' response. A server would enter the room and would hand out glasses of water to the parties involved.
