Dear whom it may concern,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing on behalf of the Civic Assistance Committee (CAC), a charitable non-governmental organization based in Moscow. Our mission is to transform societal and governmental attitudes towards migrants and refugees, advocating for their right to protection and understanding. At CAC, we believe that each and every one of us could face displacement and become a refugee. Thus, we are united by the need for support and empathy, irrespective of our differences in skin color, language, or traditions. We are committed to ensuring that everyone who seeks help receives it.

We are reaching out to explore potential collaboration with Socialist Causes. We are particularly interested in working together to lobby the Russian Government to accept refugees from New Caledonia. We believe that by joining forces, we can effectively advocate for their needs and drive meaningful change. In particular we'd like to know more of the situation of New Caledonia refugees and what can be done to help. Their plight is a reflection of humanity's failures and requires us to all do our part.

Dear Borisovna,

On behalf of the Socialist Causes Moscow Office, I express our gratitude for contacting us regarding to the dire situation of New Caledonian refugees. We are delighted to learn that Civic Assistance Committee (CAC), a leading charitable non-governmental humanitarian organization in Moscow is extending us an opportunity to collaborate on the lobbying the Russian Government to accept refugees from New Caledonia. We share your organization’s belief and conviction that, through collective actions, we will achieve more than any achieve alone.

While we at Socialist Causes alone might not be able to provide substantial funding that could alter the behavior of the Russian Government or the legislative branch, our organization specializes in promoting education and awareness. The support of humanitarian refugees aligns with the vision for a more just and equitable society in Russia.

We are eager to meet with the representatives from the CAC as soon as on the eighth of January, 2005. Considering that the office in Moscow is part of a broader international non-governmental organization with ties to New Zealand and Thailand, both of which currently host refugees from New Caledonia, would your organization wish to join us in our next meeting at our headquarters at the address below?

Respectfully,

Burtsov Semyon Borisovich
Director of Moscow Office
Tverskaya Street, 22, second floor, Moscow, Russia

Dear Director Borisovich,

I am happy our email was well received. We completely understand the limitation in your ability to fund lobbying efforts. Our organization is not particularly involved in federal-level politics however a number of our donors and supporters are members of Russia's political elites and are capable of representing our interests to Presdient Nemstov's administration.

Our organization would appreciate funding opportunities from Socialist Causes as well as supporting us in finding vetted refugees from New Caledonia to resettle in Russia either temporarily or if necessary permanently. Given your organization's links to Thailand, we felt this was an appropriate place to start. In addition, Thailand is already hosting and offering to host a large number of refugees.

I am happy to have our director come to your offices on January 12th. If your next meeting will be sooner we can have our vice director attend. Please let me know what arrangement works best for you.
Sincerely,

Svetla was in her office, preparing for the upcoming meeting with Socialist Causes. The room was neatly organized, with a large desk cluttered with files, a laptop, and a stack of documents. Svetla reviewed her notes and documents, ensuring that everything planned for the day was covered. She glanced at her watch and then at the pile of documents. She wanted to ensure that their proposal was clear and compelling, emphasizing their strengths and outlining exactly how they envisioned the collaboration working.

She picked up her phone and dialed Vitaliy Tarnovetsky's number. “Vitya, are you ready for the meeting?” Svetla asked on the phone. “I’m just finalizing our presentation materials. I’m making sure we have all the necessary documents to support our case.”

“Yes, Svetla, I’m ready,” Vitaliy Tarnovetsky replied. “I’ve got the proposal for the number of refugees and a summary of our services prepared. I’ll be in the car shortly. Have you confirmed the travel arrangements?”

“Yes, everything is set,” Svetla assured him. “We’ll be leaving shortly. Let’s meet at the entrance of the building in 15 minutes. I’ll make sure to bring the latest updates on our refugee assistance programs.”
“Sounds good. See you soon,” Vitaliy said.

Svetla hung up and took a deep breath, organizing her papers and placing them into a briefcase. She then reviewed her talking points and checked her appearance in the mirror, making sure everything was in order.

Svetla and Vitaliy exited the Civic Assistance Committee office and entered a Lada Granta waiting outside for them. The journey was smooth, and they engaged in light conversation to calm their nerves.

“Are you feeling prepared?” Vitaliy asked, looking at Svetla.

“Yes, I believe so,” Svetla replied, nodding. “We’ve covered our main points and have all the necessary documents. I’m just hoping our proposal resonates with them.”

“I’m confident it will,” Vitaliy said. “The issues we’re addressing are critical, and Socialist Causes shares our commitment to humanitarian efforts.”

“I hope you’re right,” Svetla said. “This collaboration could make a significant difference.” She looked out the window, watching the Moscow streets pass by. “

The car approached the building of Socialist Causes. Svetla took out her phone to double-check the address and meeting details.

“We’re almost there,” Svetla said to Vitaliy.

The car pulled up to the entrance of the Socialist Causes office. Svetla and Vitaliy exited the vehicle and made their way to the building. They walked through the lobby.
