Taking a brief departure from Operation Blue Steel, CNV Banana would make its way to the port of Banana. In the dark of the night, Bintu, dressed in a spiffy black suit would shake hands with and salute the 16 agents who stood in front of him. His face was still deformed from torturing and executing several Turkish diplomats, but the men who were going out would likely never see the man's face again- he was an elusive figure. That, and most of them were never slated to return from their mission.

Spread out across the dock next to them was a menagerie of weapons, explosives, rations, and survival equipment. They wore civilian clothing. Each man carried with him a wallet, filled with forged South African documentation and currency, four of the men also had a bank card connected to a Swiss bank account- untraceable and loaded with state money which itself was filtered through several different bank accounts.

Tied to the side of the dock were four inflatable dingeys, each of which was equipped with a set of oars. The men, after receiving their final briefing, a blessing from a catholic priest, loading the equipment onboard, and being gifted ebony wood-handled hunting knives as a symbol of their joining the upper echelon of the intelligence division, would board the inflatable rafts in groups of four and begin paddling out under the stars, about a mile, to where the Banana would be waiting, surfaced, a lookout crew watching for them with a signaling light. As they bumped up against the colossal iron beast that would take them to their new permanent home, the men would climb up ropes to the entry hatch, hauling the equipment with them before finally deflating the boat and bringing it as well in for storage.

Once everyone was onboard, the submarine would close its hatches and slip below the black waves, disappearing like a phantom in the mist, leaving no trace. It would immediately sail, submerged, for the Namibian coast, just outside of territorial waters.

A foreign intelligence agent would drive across the border into Angola. With him, he had a good amount of both Angolan and South African currencies, as well as a fake Angolan identity card, passport, and other forged identification, all provided by the CBI. He would purchase a flight to Johannesburg. Within a few hours, he was at a South African car rental location, using his fake identity to rent out a vehicle for a week. Another few hours and he was blazing Westward on the N14. Soon, he would be an essential role in the operation to come. But for now, he was driving in the African desert, a wasteland, a cigarette hanging from his lips, sunglasses down over his eyes, and IAM playing from a CD.

CNV Banana would cut into Namibian territorial waters near Oranjemund. As nighttime came again, she would barely surface, and four men would rush out of the hatch. The inflatable raft would be re-inflated, arms and equipment loaded in, and the men would push off. As soon as they were off and on their way, the submarine would quickly submerge before continuing. About 5 minutes had been spent on the surface. The men would paddle down to the mouth of the Orange river, dragging the craft over the sandbars, and then continuing up the river for another mile or two before beaching it again. Waiting here was a larger black SUV with room for them and their equipment. Their driver would stamp out his cigarette before turning around.

Near the tiny town of Kuboes, the men would stash all of their gear in a high mountain haven and set up a small campsite. One of the men would continue with the driver, being dropped off at the nearest large city to purchase a vehicle. He would then return to the other 3.

The same process would repeat for 2 other crews, in the locations of (-30.934468, 17.626730), (-31.240585, 17.844789). Each time the sub would retreat to outside of territorial waters before reentering for less than 40 minutes each time to get the crews close enough to the shore before immediately retreating again. The third group would take a slight detour, the first stage in the operation. Disembarking on the east side of Dassen island, about 3 miles from the lighthouse, the boat crew would use a small outboard motor they had brought with them upon embarking on the submarine in Banana to speed their way onto the islands shore. Banana would submerge as it waited, keeping active radar lookout as it had done everywhere else.

As the men beached the craft on the shore of the small island, they would anchor it to a rock before running towards the lighthouse. They were all armed with assault rifles, and carried with them a large amount of explosives in rucksacks. They would breach the front door of the lighthouse, trying to be as quiet as possible. it was always staffed however staff housing was located on the other side of the island, about a mile away. They would lay the expolosives down around the base of the structure, utilizing their professional training in all things sabotage to properly set it for maximum effect. Leaving a timed detonator with 24 hours on it, they would also fix the door with a detonation mechanism. If anyone opened the door and discovered the explosives before the timer was up, the lighthouse would detonate with them in it.

The men would rush back to the inflatable boat, rushing back to the rendevouz position several miles from the initial launch position, where Banana would resurface and quickly take them in. They would then be dropped off at iSimangaliso Wetland Park, which they would navigate, dragging their raft, until they could reach a nearby clearing where their driver would be waiting, driving them to the town of Tugela Ferry, where they would buy a small woodland home for far more than the owner would reasonably ask for, assuring a quick deal and an offering of silence. They would then stash their equipment a distance out into the woods, in a well disguised ravine.

Now, the operation could begin. All personnel were in position. A silent infiltration had taken place, with the submarine only surfacing for a total of 30 minutes across the entire operation, about 3 nights time. There was nothing suspicious for anyone to notice. All 16 men had arrived safely and with all of their equipment.

The driver would finally be finished with his immediate duties. He had rented out a beachfront Villa at Yzerfrontein, and sat relaxing on a deck chair looking out over the ocean. He had spent the evening and night clubbing, and was trying to sober up incase he was called upon for duty. The salty, fresh ocean air and calm night, stars littered about, might help him, he thought. A thundrous boom echoed out from the ocean, not like anything he had heard in nature before, short of lightning strikes. A flash barely met his eye, orange, painted along the clouds in the far off distance. It was hardly noticeable. But it was there. The sound echoed, creaked, drifted through the air. That was a sobering thought alright. That brought him back to reality: He was here in South Africa. The Boogeyman was in South Africa. South Africa had something to fear once more.

O. R. Tambo International Airport was a vast airport boasting itself as the largest airport in Africa for regional and intercontinental flights with direct city rail connection. Sat within central Johannesburg it found itself a heavily congested airport with flights from around the world twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. Since the absorption of many government agencies since coming under the control of the Swedish government, the responsibility for immigration became that of the central Department of Home Affairs in Stockholm. It has long been a requirement for a visa in order to enter Sweden, the process of which is managed by the Swedish Immigration and Customs Service (SICS) in accordance with the Nordic Council Allemannsrett Area Agreement which clearly outlines the requirements of the Swedish government in the security of its borders - it is appreciated however that at present there is no easily accessible documentation for travellers, despite appropriate fair notice being given for contact to be made with the service direct. On arrival in Johannesburg and his subsequent departure from the aircraft he would presumably make his way through Arrivals and into the usual security processing points - it would be required for any baggage carried onboard to be placed within a plastic bucket for scanning by the security services, in addition to the agent himself walking through the metal detectors. Should either of these machines activate, he would be called aside for a more thorough search. However, on continuing through the airport he would reach a passport checkpoint where his travel documents were expected to be presented to an officer of the SICS.

"Hello sir, what is the purpose of your travel today?" the officer repeats, as he does with almost every passenger as part of a short interview to test for irregularities. As he does this, he'd immediate flick the passport to the photo card and check this matched with the agent in front of him. He would not be allowed to progress until he'd successfully cleared security.

Sweden, and its overseas territories, hosts one of the most advanced early warning and defence systems in the world; its capabilities stretching from not just aerial surveillance but also that of its waters. Making use of an array of different systems the Swedish Strategic Defence Network are an independent branch of the armed forces predominantly responsible for the acquisition of anomalous results for forwarding onto the most appropriate agency. The CNV Banana is an Project 949 Granit or Oscar-class Submarine, built in the 70s. It would be reasonable to presume, without any information to the contrary, that with the submarine travelling the entirety of the South African coastline that it would take the most efficient and direct route. With surfacing occurring within territorial waters at the mouth of the Orange River, Dassen Island and iSimangaliso Wetland Park which was situated on the opposite side of the country; several of the Spaningsradar 870 surrounding the coastline would detect the vessel as it broke. These radars were monitored by the South African Maritime Defence Company of the Swedish Strategic Defence Agency.

At least three radars would detect anonymous radar readings which, although not entirely uncommon, were unusual given the time of day and almost sequential activation as the CNV Banana made its way around Southern Africa to each of its destinations. Information from each of these independent stations were analysed centrally. As the paperwork came through in the office one of the surveillance officers would reach for the printer, receiving the encrypted report and piecing together the results which were starting to become concerning, prompting him to take the three separate reports to his line manager who sat within a raised central desk area known as the 'hub'.

"Sir this is the third activation we've had from the SA Maritime tonight, they're pinging all the way around the coast..." the paperwork is slid onto the desk as he speaks.
"Any reports through the radio?" he asks, suggesting whether there were any sightings by civilian traffic "No, sir" is the quick response given.
"Right... pass it to SRAF, but in honesty I don't think they'll lift for three reports. Let's send an alert to the stations as well, keep an eye on it for me."

The hub almost ignore the intelligence as it rolls in, their shift coming to an end and the senior officer beginning his compilation of reports to provide to the relief shift in the handover briefing. The reports would be passed to the Swedish Royal Air Force for their attention, considering the Swedish Coast Guard did not operate in South Africa and were unable to conduct a flyby for this reason. But, as expected, the information was again almost entirely ignored with the SRAF unwilling to spend thousands on lifting an airport for three anonymous radar readings - they too suggested an alert be sent to all stations, which was done via encrypted electronic notice.

In Johannesburg, the driver would respond casually in one of the regional Angolan accents of Portuguese, learned in his training. "Visiting to see the sights of the country.". Checking against the forgeries, the picture would match perfectly, the man in front of him perhaps having a bit of stubble compared to in his picture, but without a doubt the same man.

Flicking through the paperwork the Swedish Immigration and Customs Service (SICS) officer would quickly notice the lack of any other travel documentation and would continue to ask the scripted questions as he would with every passenger "Where have you flown from this evening?" he asks, eagerly looking the gentleman up and down as he does. Whilst asking the questions the passport would undergo the standard authentication checks which would almost go unnoticed by the average passenger as they're conducted in such a streamlined an efficient way; the process would start by checking the UV florescent ink on the photo card, this was easily done with half the passport being pulled under a tabletop UV light fitting which ordinarily would illuminate the ink on the page. This is an extremely common security feature which is often easily manipulated. In addition the UV florescent fibres in the pages of the passport would be checked to ensure they met that of the nationality of the passport, with many nations adopting their own unique pattern embedded into the page.

"I'm flying from Luanda, sir."

After a half second when his eyes wandered to the man's hands, he would perk up and apologize briefly before bringing out his Angolan travel visa, also provided by the CBI, a near-perfect forgery. "I'm terribly sorry, travel hits me hard, I'm not used to the differing time zones." He would yawn to cover it up. That was all the identification and documentation he would need for international travel, all of which he brought with him and had used to get onto the flight in Angola, all stated in post #2. All of the checks the Swede did would check out as legitimate. The CBI was one of the most developed intelligence agencies in the world. It wouldn't slip up.

The officer half listens, the script he repeats to every passenger slowly deteriorates over the shift as he grows increasingly frustrated with ignorant passengers or tiresome of the monotony of border control. Although his speech grew slower and slower as the shift went on, the possibility of an error with an arriving passenger came as something similar to a second wind. The officer would methodically flick through the paperwork several times to hone his focus on any irregularities and reassure himself before he confronted the passenger. The Angolan visa was a new one on the South African border control - certainly wasn't the correct legal document to gain access to the country. Swedish Immigration and Customs Service had their own set forms for access to the kingdom's territories: the DHA-22 series. In this case it appeared as though the traveller had neglected the required DHA-22-1 and complimentary DHA-22-3. Bingo.

The officer keeps hold of the passport, waving over an inspector to take the passenger into an interview room where they'd consider the options on enabling access to South Africa. As far as the law was concerned this was an attempt for illegal access... as far as common sense goes it wasn't uncommon for passengers to fail to complete complicated legal paperwork and often this paperwork is easily rectified at the border with a contemporaneous interview and the completion of the aforementioned forms. "Please follow my colleague to one of the side rooms" he bellows down to the passenger, passing the passport and supporting documentation over to the inspector as he approached the checkpoint. As he receives the paperwork the uniformed inspector would walk to a soundproofed interview room within it was a small table with a chair either side and a small recorder positioned on top between two strategically positioned microphones built into the wall. In addition a long aluminium table sat along one wall with boxes of gloves, evidentially sealed bags and a wealth of tags and coded seals.

"Please take a seat. We just need to clarify your paperwork. Do you have any Kingdom of Sweden visa application forms with you?"

The stop was a bit annoying, having been told he was given all of the documentation he needed to travel before. He hadn't personally traveled before so he didnt know how quite to handle the situation. Clueless tourist sounded like a good enough play. "Erm... no? I'm sorry, this is one of my first times traveling by plane. Do you think I could fill them out here?" He maintained a calm demeanor, although he did fidget a little bit- as normal people would if pulled aside for an interview. He made sure he looked uncomfortable, but not suspicious.

This happened often and was not an unusual process for the Swedish Immigration and Customs Service (SICS) to deal with, especially since the adoption of South Africa into the normal Swedish processes, the system had become stretched and complicated but nonetheless strict with it's necessity. Within a matter of seconds the inspector would produce the first of two forms, the Mainland Sweden Application for Visa (DHA-22-1), which was only required for travellers to South Africa to ensure compliance with the Nordic Council Allemannsrett Area agreement. He would slide the form and a black pen over to the traveller before looking at him... "Not to worry, complete this form and then I will give you the next one..."

Such data as well as data concerning the decision taken on my application or a decision whether to annual, revoke or extend a visa issued will be entered into, and stored with the Nordic Criminal Information Facility (part of the Nordic Council), during which it will be accessible to the visa authorities and the authorities competent for carrying out checks on visas at external borders within the Allemannsrett Area alongside immigration and asylum authorities within the Allemannsrett Area for the purposes of verifying whether the conditions for the legal entry into, stay and residence on the territory of signatory states are fulfilled, identifying persons who do not or who no longer fulfil these conditions, examining an asylum application and determining responsibility for such examination. Under certain conditions the data will be also available to designated authorities of signatory states and to foreign authorities of states for the purpose of the prevention, detection and investigation of terrorist offences and of other serious criminal offences. The authority of the respective signatory state responsible for processing the data is the chosen competent authority.

The applicant is aware that they have the right to obtain the data relating to them recorded with the Nordic Council, and to request that data relating to me which are inaccurate be corrected and that data relating to them processed unlawfully will be deleted. At their expressed request, the authority examining their application will inform them of the manner in which they may exercise their right to check the personal data concerning me and have them corrected or deleted, including the related remedies according to national law.

All information would have been taught to the agent beforehand, however, in case of a slip he had the documents already with him and out for inspection, so he could quickly and easily reference that. After he filled it out he would hand it to the officer and wait somewhat impatiently for the next paper.

The document would be taken by the inspector who would briefly read through the document to ensure all fields had been completed, once satisfied he would supply the ancillary documentation. The final form was an Application for Permit which is required, in company with a granted visa, for access to the various overseas territories of the Kingdom of Sweden; excluding Antarctica. As the passenger completed the final document, the inspector would begin inputting the visa documentation into the system including photocopies of travel documentation. This would automatically be added to the Immigrations and Customs Service network for review. Before the record was submitted an entry on the log would inform reviewing central staff that the Application for Permit was due to be uploaded.

During the time the passenger was completing the form the inspector would wait patiently, completing various forms that were required internally on the computer system before taking the completed Application for Permit once complete. Quickly proof-reading the document before scanning it into the profile he'd just generated he would notice the entire segment missing, alongside the lack of a contact telephone number on the form - knowing full well how much this would be scrutinised by the central office he held the document out to his side. Conscious he was unable to shepherd passengers through the completion of their forms he'd ask vaguely:

"Is there anything else you'd like to add or is this complete?"

Thus far the visa application would only enable the passenger into mainland Sweden, if approved, and the additional application was required for him to be able to pass freely through to South Africa.

Once the document was properly complete it would again be scanned onto the system and send directly to the Department of Home Affairs for proper processing with the Swedish Immigration and Customs Service having the final say on approval. In the meantime, as with all applications, a required processing payment of five hundred dollars per document was to be sent to the SICA, prompting the inspector to grab a wireless card machine from his desk and walk over to the passenger where he'd rest it on the table having already punched the total of one-thousand dollars into the merchant screen which was still visible.

"Just the handling fee left please, one thousand dollars total, it'll print you a receipt from the top of the machine. Once you've paid just take a seat in the waiting room and we'll call you back through once we hear anything about your application; it should take no longer than an hour or so after confirmation of payment has been receieved.[/b]
