Dear H.E. the Secretary of Defence,

I hope this email finds you well. The Republic of Korea has undergone significant evaluation and review of the top three competitors for the ROK IFV Tender. Based on our desires for an agile and well armored IFV, we had initially hoped the ASCOD IFV would be offered by Spain. Alongside the other bidding partners, the Republic of Korea has expressed its interest to evaluate and possibly procure the ASCOD. Our benchmark for procurement of the K-20 IFV would be for the vehicle to include reactive armor and smoke grenade launchers. The expected amount to be procured of the ASCOD would be approximately three batches of 150. In total ~450 vehicles would be procured based on of course the economic situation in Korea as well as security needs. The dynamic situation on the Korean Peninsula requires continued vigilance and adaptation.

Alongside the K20 IFV program, the ROK Army is looking to procure new mobile tactical vehicles and believe the URO VAMTAC is an excellent candidate for use by the Korean Army. The ROK Army set its benchmark to procure the VAMTAC with strong armor and offensive systems. Additionally seeking to procure VAMTAC variants for command and information. The ROK Army would be purchasing these vehicles in batches, I would estimate between 200 - 300 LAVs would be purchased in the first batch and shall increase this order as deemed appropriate for the national defense.

We hope to come to an appropriate agreement with the Spanish Government and to assign the maintenance and if possible production licensing for these vehicles in Korea. Looking forward to your response.

Signed,
Kim Jaebeom

Pizarro ASCOD : $4,500,000.00 per unit

Dear H.E. the Secretary of Defence Suárez Pertierra,

Thank you for your prompt response. The Republic of Korea currently seeks to procure 2,500 URO VAMTAC's under the conditions listed: Best available armor, and offensive support systems. If these conditions can be met, we would like to discuss the procurement of the 2,500 vehicles under the guise of the K150 for use by the Korean Army. Additionally, we would like for the maintenance licenses to be apart of the agreement. Additionally, we would like to procure 500 Command & Communication/Information Vehicles of the URO VAMTAC variant, under the K151

With regards to the ASCOD IFV, thank you for the information and specifications. The outline will assist us as we identify a vehicle to select for the K-20 IFV program. Spain's bid is most appreciated and we hope to evaluate all of the possible competitors fairly and give a decision within the end of the next two weeks.

We hope to come to an appropriate agreement with the Spanish Government over the purchases and the associated licenses and will keep you updated with he K-20 IFV program.

With kind regards,
Kim Jaebeom

We are glad you have chosen Spain to fill your Land Army needs, the price for the 2500 units of URO VAMTAC's would be $475 000 000, if you can transfer this amount we will begin producing them under a new name of K150, meanwhile the Command & Communication/Information Vehicles of the URO VAMTAC would cost $90 000 000, which we will produce under the name of K151.

In total it would be $575 000 000 (includes +$10 000 000 for maintenance licenses)

With great appreciation and kind regards,
Secretary of Defence of the Republic of Spain

Dear H.E. the Secretary of Defence Suárez Pertierra,

We are ready to move forward with the payment for the 3,000 Vehicles. We would prefer if the Command & Communication/Information variant be built under the umbrella of K150 rather than the K151. This is because of ongoing development of a domestic K151 Armored Tactical Vehicle to be produced by our national companies. Which we hope Spain can assist in the future development of. Aside from this, we are ready to move ahead with the payment plan.

Signed with sincerity,

Than we shall move forward with the purchase, please transfer a total of $575 000 000 so that we can start producing the equipment. And in future it may be possible to develop the K151 with Korea, we need only to discuss the details.

With great appreciation and kind regards,
Secretary of Defence of the Republic of Spain

Republic of Spain

To the Honourable President of the Republic of Korea
Mr. Kim Daejung

It is with great pleasure, and great admiration, that the Spanish Republic and myself in its name, congratulate you and the people of Korea, for its unification. Since its birth, Korea as always been a unified and strong nation, its people united in their love for their nation and home. That love turned to sadness and longing once the Korean War started, and a once united, family broken apart by war and destruction. But hope remained, and dreams of a unified peninsula were always alive, living in the hearts of each Korean, be it North Korean or South Korea.

And now that dream as came true under your wise leadership you have accomplished what many thought virtually impossible, it bring me joy that Korea is once again, one People, one nation. The Future looks bright for a unified Korea, and Spain will aid you in every step of the way, as the ocean is nothing but a small puddle.

But remember, new challenges await you, old walls must be broken down to form new bridges, but we are absolutely certain, that united, you will prevail, and that Korean will benefit broadly the human world. My only advise is to follow your heart and your true self, with the best interests of Koreans and Korea in your mind, doing this, you shall not fail.

With great appreciation and kind regards,
President of the Republic of Spain
The Honourable Mr. Rafael Cortés

To His Honorable, President Cortés,

Thank you for your kind words President Cortés. I am most honored to receive this praise from you and your government. While the beginning of a new dawn is upon Korea, the road into the morning is long and dangerous in the darkness that clouds us. I hope that the continued leadership your administration has shown will be a guiding light for many countries around the globe as we move forward.

I am privileged to receive your advice President Cortés. Building a strong, independent, and sustainable nation is the goals that are ahead of us as we move forward to address these problems. I thank you for the support Spain has shown Korea and the continued strong partnership and alliance our two countries have held from the Romania Crisis to the Russian Financial Crash and onward. As the threat to global security from non-state actors continues to grow, we hope that Spain will continue to move forward in the global vacuum of leadership. Korea stands firmly behind your government's efforts and we look forward to seeing Spain act more and more to ensure the stability of the global order.

Signed with sincerity and best of wishes,
Kim Dae-jung
