Security Clarification: Confidential & Secure
To: Ministry of Defence - United Kingdom (mod@gov.uk) | Jamie Cc: Subject: AgustaWestland Apache AH1 & Airborne Early Warning Aircraft Agreement From: Secretary for Defence Acquisition Thomas N. Kristensen (Thomas.Kristensen@fmn.dk) |
Dear Whom it may concern, The current Defence Acquisition team has been looking at a few options to buy an attack helicopter for the use Royal Danish Airforce. From this meeting from the executives from the Acquisition department we have come to the decision to see if the following could happen; - Great Britain and Northern Ireland sell a total of 15 units of the AgustaWestland Apache AH1 to the Kingdom of Denmark - Great Britain and Northern Ireland provide the Royal Danish Air Force with training on both operating the aircraft and maintenance of the aircraft - Great Britain and Northern Ireland provide a total of 2 years maintenance deal for the 15 units until the engineers units are trained to a satisfactory level The Defence Acquisition would also like to propose a joint task force and agreement with the British Royal Air Force, currently the Danish Air Force doesn't have any Early Warning Aircraft so we'd like to propose a deal that we could both mutually agree on that would allow the Royal Danish Air Force to be able to count on the British Royal Air Force AEWC Aircraft. We'd also like to propose a joint air policing force for both the British Region and Scandinavian region specifically Danish Air Space and Internal Air Space around our two countries. I believe this would be beneficial for both of us due to the rising concerns both in the Middle East/Eastern Mediterranean regions and the current civil war that has happened in Russia. If willing, I'll be happy to attend a meeting to discuss both issues if needed. I look forward to a reply and hopefully working with the British Ministry of Defence closer for the better of the European Region. Thanks, Thomas N. Kristensen Secretary for Defence Acquisition |
