Your Excellency, I write to you on behalf of the National Security Council to formally convey an important matter regarding Ms. Amine Macar, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, who is presently residing on French soil. Following official proceedings undertaken by the competent authorities in Türkiye, and in accordance with relevant constitutional provisions and national security protocols, Ms. Macar's official passport and travel privileges have been formally revoked by the Republic of Türkiye. This measure reflects her changed legal and governmental status and is in line with Türkiye’s internal administrative and legal procedures. Given her current location in Paris, and in light of the close coordination and friendship between our two nations, the Republic of Türkiye respectfully requests the facilitation of Ms. Macar’s prompt return to Turkish territory. We trust that the Government of Her Imperial Majesty will extend its full cooperation in this matter in accordance with its obligations under international law and the principles of comity between sovereign states. Let me take this opportunity to reiterate Türkiye’s deep appreciation for the longstanding friendship between our two countries, and to express our sincere desire to enhance bilateral military, diplomatic, and strategic cooperation. The Republic of Türkiye views the French Empire as a vital partner in advancing European security, regional stability, and cooperative diplomacy at a time of increasing global uncertainty. We remain confident that this request will be handled with the professionalism and discretion that characterize the current growth and partnership in Turco-French relations, and we look forward to maintaining an open channel of communication through our respective diplomatic missions.
