To whom it may concern,

The Sultanate has been made aware of Spain's predicament in the region of Catalonia. While Egypt has always supported recognition of all groups in politics, it seems clear that Catalonia has received plenty of recognition. Violence is not always the answer, especially when it risks throwing the entire nation into a state of war. Egypt is well-versed in high-stakes combat, with a well-trained and equipped force ready for deployment at the next necessary moment. Essentially, we are willing to potentially offer assistance if need be. However, some questions linger on the Sultan's mind.

Firstly, what is Spain's relationship with Turkey and the "government" that controls Thailand? What is Spain's relationship with the violent international socialist movement? Does Spain recognize Egyptian sovereignty over the Suez Canal and the legitimacy of the Egyptian Interdiction Zone? If you could respond to these questions promptly, I would love to discuss further how Egypt could come to Spain's aid in a time of need, directly or indirectly.

The Kingdom of Spain acknowledges and appreciates the message from the Sultanate regarding the ongoing crisis in Catalonia. We are grateful for Egypt’s attention to the evolving situation and for its reaffirmation of the principles of territorial integrity, national sovereignty, and political stability.

Spain’s position remains firm, the actions taken by the so-called Free Catalonia Assembly in Catalonia constitute an illegal and armed rebellion against a democratic constitutional order. This is not a struggle for recognition, it is a rejection of legitimate democratic pathways in favor of force. We appreciate the Sultanate’s recognition of the danger such instability poses not only to Spain, but to broader regional and global security.

With respect to the inquiries posed by His Excellency.

1. Spain’s Relationship with Turkey and the Current Government of Thailand
Spain maintains formal diplomatic relations with both the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Thailand. While we recognize the complexity of internal political dynamics in both nations, Spain adheres to international law supporting constructive dialogue, rule of law, and peaceful engagement with sovereign governments.

2. Spain’s Position on the Violent International Socialist Movement
Spain unequivocally condemns all forms of political violence, including those perpetrated by extremist or revolutionary factions under any ideological banner. While Spain recognizes the rights of peaceful expression and political association, we reject any group, left or right, that seeks to destabilize societies through force, coercion, or subversion.

3. Recognition of Egyptian Sovereignty Over the Suez Canal and the Interdiction Zone
Spain affirms Egypt’s sovereign rights over the Suez Canal, in accordance with international law. We also acknowledge the strategic importance of the Egyptian Interdiction Zone, and are open to further dialogue on its legal parameters and operational scope, especially in regard to shared maritime security objectives in the Mediterranean and Red Sea corridors.

Our Ministry of Foreign Affairs stands ready to coordinate a secure, high-level diplomatic channel to explore cooperative measures in the coming days.

Minister,

Thank you for your prompt response. The Sultan will be exceptionally pleased to hear of Spain's support of our sovereignty over the Suez, as well as support for the EIZ. I do not know if your government, however, is fully aware of the treachery of the Thai "government." Not only is it ideologically a threat to all civilized nations - some of the most prominent political organizations in their government preach international, violent revolution in foreign countries - but it is a strategic threat as well.

Thailand has an established military presence in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Pacific. They have conducted military campaigns in most of these regions. Thailand has executed an Egyptian diplomat on live camera, before kidnapping our diplomatic staff and torturing them over weeks before returning them and playing the victim. Thailand has attempted to force access through the Suez through labyrinthine court proceedings despite our sovereignty over our own waters.

I believe it would be beneficial if I could have a direct personal line to your office, Minister, considering the speed of developments on the ground in Catalonia.

The heavy doors of the Ministry's executive suite were sealed, security teams posted at the outer perimeter. Inside, a quiet hum from the encryption terminal filled the space as biometric authorization was verified.

With a soft chime, the secure line activated.

“Patch me through to Chief Jabour on a secure diplomatic channel, direct line. No logs. Begin transmission.”

A brief pause. Then the screen flickered softly, showing only a ciphered digital seal confirming the Sultanate's reception.

José Manuel Albares leaned forward, voice calm but deliberate.

“Chief Jabour, this is José Manuel Albares, speaking to you from Madrid. I trust this connection remains as silent as the Cairo dusk."

In his office high in the Egyptian foreign ministry building, Zero Jabour was sat smoking with some high-ranking friends when the line from Madrid was activated. Quickly, his friends cleared the room, closing the doors behind them. To keep his environment as clear as his mind, Jabour had ensured, when he was appointed, that the entire floor was dedicated to his suite. Unless invited, it was empty aside from security staff and his receptionist, a few rooms away. His encrypted line ran through the building's floor, allowing him to smoke in peace without machinery to distract him. Turning his eyes to the streets of Cairo, dulled by his tinted windows, he picked up his simple office phone.

"Minister Albares, it is a pleasure to speak with you over the phone. Fear not, any line running through my office is safer than a family secret. No one has access here but me. You can rest easy.

"I understand there have been some rapid developments on your side of the mediterreanean. News however, is unreliable, as always- can you enlighten me on the situation as you have assessed it?"
