[Egypt] Call to Japan

"Well, given the circumstances that most of hte projects have the bulk of the cost paid at the moment of completion, we could perhaps begin working on multiple fronts and with different schedules for completion.

Specially the fighters and helicopters will required the development of multiple individual componentes such as engines, radars, sensors and eventually weaponry, unless we enter a partnership with already established producers who can provide said parts.

As for the direct flights, if you are ok, we would open the direct route Cairo-Tokio Haneda, to being increasing the exchange between our nations. EgyptAir has some 767-300ER available. They could cover the route with 3 weekly flights.

"Precisely. As for component parts, our companies may already produce some of the requisite components for both helicopters and for fighters. Prior to the apparent withdrawal of our production licenses and multinational design projects, we had designed and implemented numerous domestic parts for helicopters and fighters. We may implement those as a baseline to speed up production. We already have the base model for the diplomatic car, so it should not be difficult to simply design upgrades around it.

As far as flights, we wholeheartedly welcome flights from Cairo to Tokyo and we hope to help kickstart our own commercial travel fleet. We ask where your companies purchased your passenger jets so that we might begin exploring such possibilities."

"I will instruct my engineers to get in touch with your team. I suggest they discuss the details... I don't think either of us is a specialists on the matter. What do you think?

Great, we will then open the new route as soon as possible and give it the proper media coverage. As soon as your own national carrier is ready,we would love to increase the traffic between our nations through japanese carriers.

We acquired our aircraft a way back through Boeing, but I understand that the airliner market has grown and today you can get also decent aircraft from Europe or even China.

"That makes sense to me. I can only speak in generalities as to the technical capabilities of our engineers.

I have been informed that our government acted immediately upon our agreement to trade terms and can confirm we have dispatched two ships. One container carrier and one bulk carrier dedicated to the routes we discussed. Traveling to Egypt laden with Japanese goods and returning to Japan with Egyptian goods.

We will explore Russian options first, largely due to cost, but we will consider Boeing aircraft as well. We are eager to have our commercial lanes flowing as rapidly as possible.

Finally, to circle back and get clarity on the Suez concern. What, if anything, is the charge for ships to use the Suez? We have domestic shipping companies eager to trade through the Suez and wish to know how to price themselves."

"Great then, the specialists will get in touch soon. (OOC: I'll create a dedicated thread for this).

We look forward to receive Japan Airlines here in Cairo and Alexandria. Im confident these new routes will surely increase tourism and investments between out nations.

As for the Suez, while it true we have been rewriting the operational procedures and access fees, there is nothing to worry about for commercial vessels, specially flagged under nation with good relations to Egypt, such as yours. While a simple commercial vessel has to pay a small percentage based on tonnage, we can sign broader agreements operating such costs even more.

Military vessels are different, but I dont think Japan has anything to worry."

"Very well, our engineers will be on the lookout for contact from your R&D facilities.

We look forward to expanding our reach to the skies as well. We hope to have that piece of the puzzle solved soon. Once we do, we will establish reciprocal flights to Egypt.

That is most generous of you. We will declare whenever one of our ships is traveling through the canal and will pay dues then and there. Militarily speaking, we have little intention, and frankly little means at the moment, of moving naval assets through the Suez.

I am happy with the progress we have made and I do not wish to leave anything out. Is there anything else we should discuss here today?"

"Do not hesitate in contacting us regarding anythign related to the Suez Canal. We are aware of its strategic and commercial importance, and are willing to share it with the world. Specially to likeminded nations such as yours.

I think this call was very fruitful and positive. Our specialists will begin working ont he jooin R&D projects, while we will also prepare a draft for the visa issue.

I think we are good for the moment. Feel free to call me anytime."
