ENC - The March of Addis Ababa

The Ethiopian Federation

It is truly interesting times to be in the Ethiopian Federation, but for all of the wrong reasons. After the release of the National Union Parties new novel named "A New Future for Ethiopia," the party had a massive surge in membership. The rapid growth of the extreme party may seem terrifying to the average citizen, but this is a more telling omen of the future of the struggling Federation. According to a poll sent out by the government as a part of their monthly party support survey, the National Union Party went from an unheard of and fledgling national party to a real contender in the next elections in two years with it being in second place to the ruling party. However, it seems that party leader Abiy Abebe wants things to change, and change faster than many might think.

"We want to seize control of this government before the ruling party does more damage to our great country. Ridiculous reforms such as free speech and small comforts do nothing to help our starving children and violent criminals roaming our streets. It only fuels their disgusting urges." Says Abebe as a chorus of 30,000 armed party members follow the leader. "We want to peacefully discuss the current government with the Prime Minister. These guns are only for our protection, and to show hat we mean business. This is more serious than the current Prime Minister ever took us. And it is time that we change this country before it gets destroyed in two years time."

The March replicates a similar event in history coined "the March of Rome" by historians. Mussolini and his followers marched into the capital of Italy and seized control of the country. However, learning from past events in history, we have faith that the current prime minister will solve the immediate issues facing him in a timely manner. I am Nyala Abay, and this is ENC. Thank you for watching, and god bless you in these trying times.

Egyptian authorities would privately begin monitoring the ongoing events in Ethiopia, considering the potential threat to national security due to the water source of the Nile being located in Ethiopia.

Unrest and conflict in Ehtiopia would add to a dangerous combination if we consider the situation in Sudan.

No public statement would be made as of yet.

Similarly and without question Swedish Military Intelligence would begin monitoring the ongoing and ever-developing situation within Ethiopia.

The Department for Foreign Affairs, with a high level of encrypted communication, would be informed and necessary precautionary planning would move into effect with the Swedish Security Service to ensure assets abroad are secure and Nordic nationals abroad have a place of safety should it be required.

Syrian Officials would watch from afar as the winds of change began to stir as they did so often on the continent of Africa but apart from that the government in the capital Dasmascus would assume a position of inaction, hoping that with time things would sort themselves out.

Portuguese Officials and Military Intelligence would privately start monitoring the situation. A special plan was being formulated for any situation that would lead to a potential threat for Portugal and her people. No official announcement has been made as of July 1995.
