Earlier today, Minister of Foreign Affairs Eva-Maria Liimets spoke with Norwegian Foreign Minister Jens Stoltenberg. Minister Liimets reiterated the Estonian Government's desire to enhance cooperation with the Nordic Council and to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Norway and Estonia. They committed to the establishment of a formal trade route between Oslo and Tallinn. The Foreign Minister looks forward to speaking with her Norwegian counterpart again, to deepen cooperation between the two countries.

Earlier today, Minister of Foreign Affairs Eva-Maria Liimets spoke with Ambassador Dżesika Jezierska, the Polish Representative to Estonia. Minister Liimets congratulated Ambassador Jezierska on the ascession of the New King, and spoke to the Estonian people's admiration of the new sovereign's willingness to stand up to the forces of corruption. The pair discussed recent developments in Eastern Ukraine, emphasising their willingness to cooperate as it relates to the contribution of financial aid to Russia in the wake of that country's economic crisis. Further, they expressed concern at the events in Ukraine and pledged to monitor the situation further to ensure democracy and the rule of law remain sacrosanct in that country.

The Minister committed to signing a free trade agreement between Poland and Estonia to boost economic ties and foster a spirit of friendly cooperation between both nations. They also agreed to conduct further ministerial talks at a later date.
