President Maxence Cuvillier would use an encrypted phone line to contact his German counterpart.

In the Potsdam New Palace, the Kaiser was informed by a secretary of the Reich Chancellery of the call from the French government. Now curious as to what was going on, the Kaiser ordered for the line to be encrypted, and for his office vacated. An additional line was also requested to be put through to the Reich Chancellery for Reich Chancellor Nahles to secretly listen into the conversation, alongside the rest of the State Security Commission of the German Reich. After about 10 minutes of waiting, the Kaiser answered simply, and plainly.

"Hello?"

"Good day, Your Imperial and Royal Majesty. I'm President Maxance Cuvillier of the new French government." He sat down in his chair. "I've called you today to discuss the current situation with Brazil. I've also called you to inform you that your diplomats have been released and that they will be safely escorted out of Paris and if you would allow me, I would like to transfer some money to the Reich in hopes that that small spat can be forgotten entirely."

The Kaiser raised an eyebrow in curiosity. Now, as suspicious as the Kaiser was of the new government, given its violent uprisings, he wasn't going to be despicably rude to the communists. Perhaps now was a time for detente between France and Germany...but he had to play his cards right.

"Well...firstly, you can refer to me as 'Your Majesty' or 'Kaiser'; it's much simpler, yes?" he started warmly, hiding his calculating expression of deep thought behind the veil of the phoneline, "Secondly, I would like to thank you for my diplomatic personnel having been released; that being said, I don't think that refusing your offer of apology will make me forget this incident, but I can certainly forgive with such an offer, especially for a new government that is being distrusted on the fact of its very upbringing, and one which worries many in the Reichstag greatly. I consider your offer more than valid enough to suffice for the trouble, so long as it is a reasonable amount to be given." Friedrich proceeded to take a sip from a glass of water he had set up for the talk, already knowing that it was important to keep his throat moist if he wanted to continue talking. Looking out the window to the New Palace Communs, he cleared his throat.

"However, this wasn't about the incident in Paris. For now, I believe you had a more pressing matter to discuss? One regarding a 'favorite' belligerent of Europe?" he asked coldly, venom dripping from his voice when he stated "favorite belligerent".

"Of course, Kaiser," he corrected and continued, "I understand that the situation cannot be forgotten, but perhaps an apology can prevent further strains on our relationship in the future. As for the trouble, how does 75,000,000.00$ sound?

And yes, we should focus on the current goings-on. I have a proposition for the Reich along with all other European countries. It is clear that Brazil has not learned its lesson and will continue to, if you pardon my language, fuck up. And that Argentina will continue to dig its grave by supporting them. My proposition is that if this war between France and Brazil reaches Europe, we Europeans will come together and push them out. This proposition would be entirely defensive in nature and unless it reaches Europe and European waters, nothing would be asked of Germany and its people.

Of course, the German Reich has no obligation to do any such thing, but if Brazil were to reach Europe... well, I cannot say what would happen from that outcome."

Friedrich thought for a moment, so that Reich Chancellor Nahles could gauge his response to the offer. The Kaiser was fine with what was proposed, but he had to ensure

"I would personally prefer an even eighty-million dollars, in order to make it a more simple addition to the Bundesbank, but I think that your offer is sufficient enough. Now, regarding your proposition, I think that this is a matter that could easily be applied to every European country, as you said...but you already know what my answer is, if you have seen my recent press release." Friedrich smirked in response, taking another sip of water as he started writing down a proposition to the Turks on a laptop that was nearby as well.

"I will absolutely defend European sovereignty...but understand that Germany comes first. I have a duty to protecting my nation before France, as I stated in my press release. I hope that is understood?" Friedrich asked, hoping that he wasn't putting additional strain on an already-fragile bond.

"That sounds more than fair, the transfer will be done once our conversation has been concluded.

As for Germany first, I totally understand. If worse comes to reality, France will be prepared to fight for all of Europe to the very last man. I thank you for your time, Kaiser. I believe we've discussed all there is to discuss, yes?

Unless you have something to add?"

"No, we don't, aside from a reduction in Federal Police forces along our border. I don't believe that you have the intention to attack Germany...but I will continue to keep police forces along our border for the fact that your revolution did, indeed, rise up violently. It is nothing personal...just politics." the Kaiser stated as calmly as he could. As productive as this talk had been regarding Brazil, he certainly still had an obligation to the Reichstag regarding France's new regime. At least this could be considered a detente.

"Now, if you excuse me Herr President, I have a meeting to attend. Thank you for the offer, and thank you for the apology."
