From: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jean Le-Pen
To: Mach Linh, Secretary of State, Vietnam

On behalf of President of Francois Mitterand and the people of France, I would like to extend you and your administration our warmest greetings. We would like to establish formal contact between our nations and study the possibility of increasing bilateral commerce.

France prides itself on being a neutral nation, free from coalitions or alliances, which allows us to talk openly with all countries.

I myself look forward to opening such a relationship with you personally.

Yours,

Jean Le-Pen

Jean Le-Pen would be invited personally to have lunch with the Vietnamese Ambassador to the Republic of France at his house. The lunch invitation would be delivered by courier to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, requesting his presence for the very next day.

Vice-President Jean Le-Pen would read the letter and have his secretary arrange for him, the Secretary of Transportation and Secretary of Trade to meet with him tomorrow at 10:00 at his office for the short ride over to the Vietnamese Ambassador's house. he would also have the secretary send a courier with the details back to the Vietnamese Embassy immediately before the business day ends. And, since no time was given, state the the French delegation would arrive at 11:00am the following day.

The next day at 10am the Secretary of Transportation, a Mr. Jules LeMond and the Secretary of Trade, a Mr. Jaques Clemenceau arrive at the VP's office and tell him they have their presentations ready.

With that the VP and his two ministers leave the office surrounded by a team of eight bodyguards carrying FN P90's in their suit jackets loaded with two extra clips.

The VP and the Secretary take their seats in a Renault Master II armored van accompanied by two of the bodyguards. Another Renault Master II will drive in front of the VP's van and a third will follow the VP's van, each with three bodyguards in them.

In front of the first van will be two French Police officers driving Yamaha TDM Motorcycles. They will each be armed with loaded Glock 19 pistols and two extra clips. And second pair of policeman on motorcycles will follow the motorcade, armed just as their counterparts.

The motorcade winds through the streets of Paris until they near the Ambassador's residence when the head of security in the middle van gets on his CB to radio to the Vietnamese Embassy staff that the French delegation is ready to arrive.

At the gate to the Ambassador's home, a young Vietnamese Marine stood guard. He was as still as a statue, gazing forward in silence. Slung in his arm was his well-tended M14 battle rifle and latched to his hip was his gleaming 1911 handgun. He slowly turned his head, acknowledging the arrival of the Vice President Le Pen and his entourage. The Marine stepped away from the gate and walked into the booth by the side of the road, ringing the Ambassador's residence from the telephone.

After ten seconds of dial tone, the phone clicked, announcing that the Ambassador had picked up the phone.

"Yes?" Ambassador Alexandre Rochefort asked.

"He's here, sir." The Marine responded.

"Excellent, send him in."

The Marine opened the gates to the Ambassador's residence and smartly saluted the entourage as they came through the gates. At the front of the modest home, Alexandre Trieu, the Vietnamese Ambassador to the Republic of France, would await along with his wife, Lucille. Making up over half of the Vietnamese population in Europe, France contained a well-established contingent of Vietnamese, a population that was established well before the Fall of Saigon. However, the young Alexandre Trieu was not a part of this well-established contingent. He was a thuyền nhân, a boat person; a refugee fleeing Vietnam after the Communist took over. Ironically enough, he hadn't come to France in a boat. He was smuggled aboard a plane destined for France by a reporter, bribed by his desperate parents. He never knew the father or mother that birthed him. He never even knew his real name. Alexandre was the name given to him by the orphanage in which he grew up in and his last name belonged to his wife, the girl he had grown up with at the orphanage.

As the entourage pulled up, Alexandre stepped down from the stairs, smiling widely.

"Jean, welcome to my home. I am so pleased to meet you after all this time."

"No, Mister Ambassador. I am pleased to meet you. Your life's story is well-known in France. No matter what your passport says, the French always think of you as French at heart. We hope that you would always call France your second-home."

Vice-President Le-Pen pauses for a second clearing his throat.

"My aim is to do some good here. Not just for today, but for years and decades to come."
