Karl thought hard for a moment, nodding as he stood up and extended his hand in thanks.

"Well, thank you for this discussion. We can talk more on the prospect of setting up international law and placing an amendment for permanent protocols for Iron Ring Members later, after our Heads of State have talked on it. Furthermore, I think I can work on the Free Trade Protocol..." realization caught up to him, and Karl shook his head four times, twice in each direction.

"I apologize. You said you had been mulling around a military streamlining protocol? I would be more than happy to hear your ideas."

"That is correct, sir," He replied. "It is mostly regarding calibres of weapons, such as 155mm and 105mm artillery shells, small arms and so forth, to allow a modicum of interchangeability between nations, in the event that they wish to assist each other militarily. Naturally, this is purely optional, for obvious reasons."

"Well," Karl hummed, "Such an idea for a protocol seems necessary only for military allies, not defensive ones. Each country has a different way that it fights, and that includes its weapons and the way it organizes itself. Assistance militarily could be done easily enough, even with different weapons...but most things considered, most weapons that are present are chambered much the same way."

"Indeed, as I said, it was purely a half-baked idea."

"Well, a little bit of work on such an idea wouldn't hurt anyone, and could potentially bring our nations that much closer together," Karl reasoned, extending his hand back into a handshake as he stood up.

"Regardless, I have business to attend to with my new office-space. I look forward to working more closely with you."

"Likewise, best of luck with your new office," Hakim replied, while shaking his hand.

After shaking his hand a total of four times, Karl proceeded to leave Hakim's office for his own, already starting on working on a draft of the free trade protocol he had been envisioning after entering it.
