[Great Britain]: Call with France

The Secretary of State for International Development, Leon Hurst, would invite the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for France to a private and encrypted call to discuss relations.

Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister of European and Foreign Affairs would pick up the phone.

"Le Drian speaking, how may I be of assistance?"

"Good Evening, Minister" spoke the British Secretary, "Thank you for your time today, firstly, I'd like to congratulate your governments entrance into office. It's unfortunate of the recent happenings surrounding Brazil but you have our full support nonetheless. I've invited you to the call given the positive past between France and the UK and would like aim to have mutual reassurance of a continued friendship. The day to day activities that occur between the UK and France, just on the Eurotunnel alone shows the need for cooperation in a multitude of areas. I would like to know if this is something your government also seeks? Further cooperation between the UK and France, economic and political with aspects of security involvement. We tend to figure what happens to one of us, affects the other."

"France always seeks to make more friends and allies.

As for the situation with Brazil, I cannot fully state what happened as it is currently being discussed in Court, but their Minister of Foreign Affairs threatened our Minister of Economy and the Executives of two automobile companies that had accompanied him to Brazil. Brazil then closed its embassy in France, we told them that due to the Yellow Vest protests being extremely dense in Paris we could not reach them for safe passage through the crowds and asked them to remain within the embassy for their own safety until the Yellow Vests could be dispersed through humanitarian actions. I suppose they took that as a threat as they then threatened us, on a live broadcast I might add, stating that they would have Brazilian warships in our waters within a week if their ambassadors and civilians were hurt.

Regardless, we know that Brazil doing such a stupid thing would result in a war that they could not win. We see Brazil as nothing more than a child who missed his nap, the proper defensive measures have been taken but we don't believe that Brazil will act on those threats."

"It's good to hear of your intention of continuing to keep your doors open to friends and eventual allies; of course this is something the United Kingdom aims to work for and work with your own administration through Economic, Political and even military cooperation. With that in mind, I'd like to hear your thoughts of re-visiting a free trade agreement between France and the UK that would abolish any tariffs/taxes on trade imported from the other. Is this something you'd be willing to agree too?
As for Brazil, that's understandable. They've proven to be a very unpredictable, but be reassured of our support. Not just in regards to Brazil, but anything else that we can assist with, we will provide support where possible."

"I thank you for the support. A free trade agreement would be something that could be beneficial, considering our close proximity. France would be willing to sign such an agreement."

A Draft Free Trade Agreement would be compiled and signed by the British Delegate before getting handed over to his French Counterpart "In that case, if you'd like to sign and we can work from there.
There is one other agenda, specifically, I'd like to raise, and that is the Eurotunnel. Previously, arrangements were made with your past government over shared security. British Transport Police in France to support your officers, and French officers on the British side of the tunnel to support ours. A mutual agreement to maximise security and cooperation. Is this something you'd be keen on continuing?"

Minister Le Drian would sign the Agreement and faxed the paper back to his British counterpart.

"The mutual assistance between our police forces seems like it would be a benefit both for our relationships and in the ability of our police forces in working together in the future. The Republic would be keen on continuing this."
