Great Britain | Opening Relations with France

"I couldn't agree more, we've transferred the funds of 375 million and would be very happy for the opportunity to see the cruise ship once it's produced.
I'd like to ideally see it named after something both the UK and France has in common too, if that's possible, as it'd show the growing friendship between our countries.

We would also be happy to participate in a joint exercise, is this something you would like to host yourself? If so, we'd just require the details, and the date and we'll be there" he spoke optimistically of the future relationship between France and the UK.

"Excellent idea for the naming of the ship. I will send word immediately once she is finished. As far as the joint exercises, shall we arrange for our respective defense ministers to meet? That is much rather their purview I believe."

The President then rises, slowly, but with dignity from his chair.

"Your Excellency, I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed speaking with and getting to know you. I believe we have laid much groundwork with which to build further upon. But with that, I wish I could talk for days like I used to. But it is time for this politician to drag his old bones back to Paris. I leave knowing your country is in goods hands under your leadership."

With that President Mitterrand extends his arm and shakes the Prime Minister's hand.

"Excellent, and yes, I agree, a meeting for our Defence Ministries ought to be best to discuss further. I will arrange for the Ministry of Defence to contact their French Counterparts to open discussion on Joint Exercises." replied the Prime Minister, promptly standing up.
"It's been an absolute pleasure to welcome you to London, and embark on these very progressive talks, which I do look forward to see grow in the future with further cooperation. Please, do let me know if you need anything and I hope you've enjoyed your visit." The Prime Minister shook the Presidents hand, and the escort and police service ensured a safe transit back to the airport for the French delegate to return safely.

Back in Paris, after a day of rest President Mitterrand sits at his desk in his home office in the early morning and pens a letter to the British Prime Minister thanking him again for the visit. Once finished, he hands it off to an aide. He then grabs his phone, waits for clearance that it is encrypted, and then asks for Defence Minister LeMond so he can update him on his meeting in London.
