Message to Israel
Private & Encrypted

To: Benjamin Netanyahu
From: Lord Sebastian Llewellyn, Governor-Chairman of the Honourable Company of India

Good day,

After careful review, the Honourable Company of India, has decided to withdraw its recognition of the State of Israel, effective within the next 72 hours.

In consequence, the Embassy of India in Tel Aviv will cease to operate as a diplomatic mission by the end of these 72 hours and will be redesginated as a Consulate, tasked with attending to consular matters and the protection of citizens of India in accordance with all Global Assembly charters. The Ambassador to Israel, Mr. Navtej Sarna, together with those members of the diplomatic staff whose functions will no longer be required under this reduced presence, will accordingly be recalled to India.

In this connection, we request that you grant clearance for an aircraft, Embraer Legacy 600, in model, to arrive at Ben Gurion Airport for the purpose of transporting these people back to Delhi.

Of course, we will issue the same clearance for all Israeli diplomatic staff to be returned to Tel Aviv from Delhi.

Sincerely,
Lord Sebastian Llewelly
Governor-Chairman
Honourable Indian Company

STATE OF ISRAEL
Dear Marwan Barghouti,

We receive with profound regret the decision conveyed by the Honourable Company of India to withdraw its recognition of the State of Israel and to terminate the Embassy of India in Tel Aviv as a diplomatic mission.

This development is a matter of the deepest disappointment and sorrow. We regret especially that a relationship which has, over the years, been conducted through established diplomatic channels and mutual representation should reach such a grave juncture.

Nevertheless, we acknowledge the notification concerning the departure of Ambassador Navtej Sarna and the members of the diplomatic staff whose functions will cease under the proposed arrangements. We will extend the necessary cooperation to facilitate their orderly and safe departure, including the requested clearance for the Embraer Legacy 600 aircraft to arrive at Ben Gurion Airport for the purpose of transporting them to Delhi.

We likewise take note of the assurance that equivalent clearance will be extended to Israeli diplomatic personnel should circumstances require their departure from India.

While respecting the decision communicated to us, we wish to place on record our extreme regret at this profound deterioration in diplomatic relations. We remain hopeful that circumstances may, in due course, permit the restoration of full diplomatic relations and the reopening of channels through which the two countries may once again engage directly and constructively.

In the meantime, we trust that all arrangements arising from this decision will be conducted with professionalism and due regard for the welfare of the personnel and citizens concerned.

Kind Regards,
Benjamin Netanyahu
Prime Minister
State of Israel

Outside the Indian diplomatic mission, a coach pulled up and began waiting outside the embassy under a heavy Israel Police presence, with marked patrol vehicles positioned around the entrance and along the street. Officers stood watch as they awaited staff to come out with their luggage out and load into the storage compartments beneath the coach.

The Israel Border Police's YAMAM Central unit was placed on alert locally with officers ready to deploy at a moments notice from their base in central Tel Aviv.

The police maintained a visible perimeter around the vehicle whilst any luggage was secured underneath and the passengers boarded one by one. The atmosphere remained quiet and tense, with officers overseeing every movement as preparations continued for the escorted transfer to Tel Aviv Airport.

Once the loading was complete, the coach departed under police escort, heading toward the airport.

At the Israeli diplomatic mission in New Delhi, preparations were made to close with all paperwork to be shredded and incinerated alongside all hard drives destroyed. All that was left in the building was the furniture, the Ambassador and his security detail and family alongside any embassy staff would return to Tel Aviv with El Al Sky Marshals being informed of the diplomatic evacuation.
