Dear Mr President,
I am writing on behalf of Government of the United Kingdom to extend our thoughts and support as the United States prepares for the impact of Hurricane Katrina, from my understanding in the news, it poses a severe and real threat to the US and I want to reassure you that the United Kingdom is prepared to support you in any way possible if required.
We currently have two Lockheed Martin TriStar aircraft stationed at Edwards Airforce Base which are a heavy-lift capability and will be available to help provide transport of personnel and supplies if neccesary.
Additionally, we are prepared to deploy resources from the Royal Air Force in the UK, including transport aircraft and personnel, to deploy critical supplies, medical assistance and logistical support to affected areas. If these teams are able to support your efforts, I will ensure they are ready to collaborate with U.S authorities to ensure our assistance is integrated into the ongoing operation.
Please do not hesitate to let us me know how we can be of service, if at all. Whether that be in advance of it making landfall or in the aftermath - we will act swiftly and integrate accordingly. We are all thinking of those in the possible impact areas.
Kindest Regards,
Lawrence
