In light of recent events on the European mainland regarding the current conflict between The Kingdom of Spain and The Kingdom of Italy, The Irish Government has decided to issue courtesy of the Foreign Office a declaration of Neutrality which is as follows:
The nation of Ireland, the smallest of the nations of Europe, is a hub for many of the important sea lanes of the world. As a free port and a trading state, Ireland is an important commercial center and remains open to all the nations of the world. Ireland seeks no conquests, only safety. To that end, we encourage all nations to recognize the neutrality of the nation.
1) Ireland declares herself to be neutral in all wars, in which Ireland or an ally is not attacked directly, and only seeks enough arms and soldiers to defend herself.
2) Ireland wishing to not threaten any of her neighbors, renounces the use of military force for conquest.
3) Ireland hereby requests that the personal freedoms of its citizens travelling abroad or living abroad be left unhindered as such without prior contact having been made with The Government of Ireland.
4) Ireland shall remain a free port for all parties be they involved on one side or another of any hostility, reserving the right to deny service to armed naval vessels or merchant vessels carrying munitions or troops. All offenders will be given 24 hours to leave ports of entry or face the temporary detainment of crew and the impoundment of vessel.
The Government of Ireland respectfully requests that all nations comply with terms of these statement. Thank You!
