Dear Secretary Brock Washington,
On behalf of the new Government of the State of Israel, I extend our sincere congratulations to the new Administration of the United States.
Israel values the enduring strategic partnership between our nations, founded upon shared democratic values, mutual trust, and decades of close security cooperation. Our government is committed to strengthening this relationship further and looks forward to working closely with your Administration to advance peace, stability, innovation, and collective security. We intend to forge an even stronger partnership in the years ahead through continued collaboration across defence, intelligence, technology, and regional security initiatives.
In that spirit, I respectfully submit two proposals for your consideration that, in our view, would further reinforce the relationship between our countries.
First, we propose exploring the re-establishment of the Dimona Radar Facility as a jointly operated United States–Israel institution. A renewed joint facility could enhance ballistic missile early warning, strengthen integrated air and missile defence coordination, facilitate joint operational planning, and expand opportunities for collaborative research, training, and technological development. We believe such an initiative would improve interoperability between our armed forces while contributing to regional stability and collective deterrence.
Second, we respectfully request consideration of a licensed domestic production arrangement for the Patriot PAC-2 missile system within Israel. Subject to mutually agreed security measures, technology protection, export-control requirements, and U.S. oversight, such an arrangement would strengthen industrial and defence cooperation between our nations.
We believe these initiatives would represent meaningful investments in the long-term security partnership between the United States and Israel while enhancing our shared ability to address evolving regional challenges.
The Government of Israel greatly values the steadfast friendship of the United States, and we look forward to continued cooperation under Prime Minister Bennett and President LaFleur's leadership. We appreciate your consideration of these proposals and remain ready to engage through the appropriate channels.
