Ramallah, Palestine

TOP SECRET
The Undercover Counter-Terrorism Unit would begin gathering intelligence by entering communities within the West Bank, they would be dressed in casual clothing and would blend into the busy streets around key targets in Ramallah, East Jerusalem and Hebron as well as other key Palestinian cities as they scouted out key targets selected by the Shin Bet security agency such as political leaders, activists and prominent figures which had expressed publicly about the destruction of an Israeli state. Each agent would carry a fully loaded IWI Jericho 941 concealed in the waistband on their person.

With assets being phased into Operation Defensive Shield from Operation Guardian of the Walls, the monitoring of the infrastructure of Hamas such as emails, phone calls and other electronic communications would continue but the Military Intelligence Directorate would now extend the monitoring of electronic communications to all known leaders and representatives of all political parties in the State of Palestine which would be undertaken by the Palestinian Division of the Military Intelligence Directorate.

Ramallah, Palestine

TOP SECRET
After days of gathering intelligence within Palestinian neighbourhoods, it was decided that the Israel National Counter Terror Unit escorted by members of the 932nd "Granite" Infantry Battalion would enter neighbourhoods close to the city of Ramallah and the city of Ramallah itself to arrest targets that had been deemed necessary through the intelligence gathering process. A total of sixty seven suspects had been picked up with the Palestinian security forces notably co-operating with Israeli forces, such as arresting militant sub-groups in other areas inaccessible by Israel and assisting the Israeli government with prosecuting of those picked up. Those arrested would be searched and sent under arrest to police stations and military camps in Jerusalem.

In private, further plans had been drawn up for the permanent stationing of personnel in positions around the West Bank with increased surveillance to be undertaken due to potential links between the Palestinian Government and the former Pan-Turkish Government.

Personnel would begin moving to military positions with their equipment around the Jerusalem region where they would await further orders to deploy into the West Bank.

Jerusalem, Israel

TOP SECRET
The Prime Minister had gave the orders for the immediate deployment of forces into full readiness and the deployment of personnel into surrounding border cities within the West Bank which resulted in the sixteen thousand troop deployment alongside their equipment (bulletproof vest, encrypted communications radio, IWI Tavor or M4A1 Carbine primary weapon and IWI Jericho 941 secondary weapon with three extra magazines for each weapon) which would remain on them at all times unless stated. Knowing that a potential conflict could be heading their way, maximum focus was used by personnel on the ground as they kept an eye out for any potential threats. Surrounding villages outside the major towns and cities in which the battalions had been named after would be seized by the personnel on the ground and targets which had been chosen through previous intelligence gathering operations but not yet arrested would be arrested and placed into awaiting military police vehicles and escorted back to Israel where they would be detained.

Personnel on the ground would be met with chanting and rock throwing from Palestinians which is a tactic with both a symbolic and military dimension when used against heavily armed troops. Personnel would carry riot shields and would fire tear gas and stun grenades to disperse of crowds from the streets with those identified as being involved in stone and rock throwing arrested and sent to Israel for questioning whilst military checkpoints and roadblocks would be set up outside major towns and cities with Palestinians allowed to carry on with their day to day lives unless they posed a risk to Israeli security forces in which they would face identification checks and/or detainment for questioning by the Israel Border Police.

The Israel Border Police would deploy in high volume to the streets of Jerusalem to ensure the security of the borders and would work with their counterparts in the Israel Defence Force to secure buildings and national monuments deemed high risk. Personnel would carry their equipment at all times (bulletproof vest, encrypted communications radio, IWI Tavor or M4A1 Carbine primary weapon and IWI Jericho 941 secondary weapon with three extra magazines for each weapon) with the Yamas unit (counter-terror undercover unit) leading the operation in Jerusalem to ensure maximum protection for civilians doing their day to day activities whilst the Prime Minister was to convene with the cabinet once again to further deploy extra resources from other districts across the country to Jerusalem as well as Tel Aviv with the potentiality of a counter-attack.

Hebron, Palestine

TOP SECRET
After the insertion of the Israel Border Police and Israel Defence Force personnel into the West Bank began, it was decided that battalions named after towns in Area A of the West Bank would be moved into other areas in Area B and Area C leaving Area A under temporary Palestinian Authority leadership until the State of Israel decided its policy on the Palestinian Authority. The occupation of towns and cities across Area B and Area C was undertaken swiftly and was met with groups of protestors and rock throwers which caused the groups to be dispersed using tear gas and stun grenades and those responsible being detained and taken away in Border Police vehicles to stations in Jerusalem. The opening of roadblocks and military checkpoints as stated in the previous post would see them now set up with Israel Border Police and Israel Defence Force personnel making random spot checks and those on any intelligence watchlists would also be detained and taken back to Israel for questioning.

Surrounding streets across the towns and cities near military checkpoints and roadblocks across Area B and Area C within the West Bank would be searched to ensure they didn't pose such a risk to the personnel manning them, they would have no problem moving through the streets to ensure the perimeters was secure. Once the tasks had been completed, they would their vehicles at the side of the road or at gas stations where personnel would grab a quick snack or drink break and for vehicles to fill up with fuel, knowing that they would have trouble gaining gas, the personnel would pay extra to ensure that they could leave without trouble.

Israel had suffered its first losses within Operation Defensive Shield with Corporal Victoria Rosenberg belonging to the Israel Border Police being stabbed in the neck at a military checkpoint in Hebron and the suspect being shot dead by fellow Israel Border Police personnel. It had been announced by Hamas through their social media channels that they were responsible for the attack and many more were being planned. This caused the Israel Border Police and Israel Defence Force to bolster troop numbers across towns and cities with personnel patrolling in groups of seven. The Duvdevan Unit which belonged to the Commando Brigade of the Israel Defense Forces would also deploy its entire complement of personnel to larger cities such as Jericho, Jenin and Hebron in which undercover operations in urban areas were to commence, during which its operators would wear civilian clothing to disguise themselves among the local Arab population. Members of the unit would also begin operations in both human and mechanical counter-surveillance with personnel carrying a fully loaded IWI Jericho 941 complemented with a silencer tucked into their waistband.

Hebron, Palestine

TOP SECRET
Over the past couple of days, military outposts and checkpoints had now become functional with Border Police and Israel Defence Force personnel performing random checks on Palestinian civilians. Senior officials within the Israel Defence Force had been in planning talks to open a military database containing profiles of virtually every Palestinian in the West Bank, including photographs of individuals, their family histories, education and a security rating for each person with those deemed a higher risk than others to be placed under close surveillance by the Undercover Counter-Terrorism Unit to assess whether they need to be detained. Border Police and Israel Defence Force personnel on West Bank checkpoint duty would not be allowed to end their shifts until they had filled their quota of 50 photos of Palestinians passing the checkpoint, and details concerning them which would be filed into an encrypted database.

The most notable sub-operation was the deployment of the Duvaden Unit which had deployed twelve of its agents into Hebron to arrest Marwan Barghouti who is a Palestinian political figure belonging to the Palestinian National Liberation Movement party. The unit left six members of his security detail under a night time raid with their IWI Jericho 941 complemented with a silencer which allowed them to be as discreet as possible. It was Prime Minister Naftali Bennett who had called for the arrest of Marwan Barghouti and deemed him a terrorist. It wasn't until the next day which saw the arrival of Prime Minister Naftali Bennett into the West Bank which he was joined by Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman and was flanked by a number of soldiers from the Hebron Territorial Infantry Battalion upon his arrival in Hebron to speak with Border Police and Israel Defence Force personnel which was seen as a moral boost for those on the ground.

"Firstly, I would like to congratulate the Israel Defence Force and Israel Border Police for their efforts in protecting the State of Israel against the evil terrorist groups that inflict terror on Jewish citizens. As I have previously stated, I have already killed lots of Arabs in my life when I was in the Army, and there is absolutely no problem with that. I support the efforts undertaken by Israel to protect its civilians and I still stand by with what I have said in the past. I would also like to pay tribute to Corporal Victoria Rosenborg who was a twenty two year old belonging to the Israel Border Police who gave her life to protect the State of Israel and she has been awarded the Eliyahu Golomb Israel Security Award which will go to her family in her name." - Naftali Bennett speaking to reporters in Hebron
