Regent Francesco Messe, A man feared throughout the colony sits in his office alone. Despite his seeming total control of the lands he understands his position is tenuous at best. The vast majority of his people wish for his removal and exile.
Taking a lomg drag on his cigar he rubs his abdomen a sharp sting shoots through him. A permanent reminder of the attempt on his life, only proving his unenviable position within his nation. He stares out at the city outside his quarters. The port city of Benghazi. Not only the home of the revolution which he rose to prominence from but the home to the vast majority of Italians in the nation nearly 50,000.
This city is his personal pet project. His obsession even.
He looks at the streets in disgust the people and city are dirty. The roads heavily damaged from the civil war still go unrepaired. He plans to rebuild this port to be the shining example of "Modernizzazione Italiana". This city will soon be just as Italian as Venice, Naples, or Rome.
Turning to a map on the back wall a map of the territorial extent of the colony with statistics on the whole board. Benghazi (52,848 - 623,771), Tripoli (12,124 - 1,055,913), Tobruk (11,769 - 110,882) etc...
These statistics are of the Italians living in the major cities. It wasnt nearly enough Italians only made up 1.3% of the population the rest were... *undesirable*
