Chrysanthemum Regeneration
Early today, it has been announced in a shock decision, that the government has chosen to reinstate the Japanese monarchy to its former, absolute status. In an official statement, the democratically elected Japanese government announced its decision to reform Japanese politics and replace the current Democratic system with the that of an Absolute Monarchy. This would see the Emperor and Empress regain their old powers, promoting them from the ceremonial and traditional roles they've taken on in the past decades.

Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko wave at the crowds outside gathered Tokyo Imperial Palace

In a move that conflicts directly with the Constitution of Japan, established in 1947, the government has also decided to abolish the codified constitution in favour of an uncodified constitution, granting the reinstated monarchy with greater politic power. Although it's unclear, so far, the only alteration to the constitution is that of the changing role of the monarchy, and the abolishment of Article 9, which famously outlawed Japan's ability to declare war.
In a separate statement, by Emperor Akihito, released after the announcement, the Emperor stated that the parliamentary government would take an advisory role, and that all Cabinet positions would remain unchanged.

This comes hours after the People's Republic of China has declared martial law and weeks following South Korea's readopted of its monarchy. Given the drastic changes taken recently, it is clear that the geopolitical atmosphere of East Asia if once again shifting, and hopefully for the better.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs would release a statement.

"The Australian Government is deeply concerned by the recent developments in Japan. As many are aware, Australia was instrumental in creating the modern-day and democratic Japan alongside our partners in the United States and it is our desire to see the 1947 constitution continue in effect. We will be contacting our partners in the United States to discuss this matter as it's obviously a major concern for the wider region. We put an end to imperialist Japan and we wish to continue to see it be dead and buried. This move was obviously without a vote from the Japanese people and this again is majorly concerning and we stand firmly with all Japanese people who are deeply troubled by this news. We urge the Japanese Government to revise this decision and we urge the Emperor himself to think about the broader implications of this for his own people and the nation of Japan. We will be in contact with our embassy in Tokyo regarding this matter for constant updates and for the mean time, normal safety precaution travel advice will remain in place."

In response to Australian statement, this decision was made due to the rising popularity in the Japanese monarchy, and in particular, the favouring of a monarchy over a democratic system. An internal poll found that the Japanese people are being increasingly dissatisfied with the democratic system, feeling cheated and lied to. Whilst though a monarchy prevents the peoples ability to vote, it gives a sense of national identity and promotes Japanese culture and tradition.

We can reassure the Australia and the world, that although the atrocities were conducted in the past, a changing political system does not change Japanese morals and desire for peace. We would also like to remind Australia that these atrocities conducted during the Second World War were not orchestrated by the imperial monarchy, but rather the militaristic regime democracy allowed in power.

Ministry of foreign affairs, Cedomir Jovanovic whilie giving a speech in Belgrade, he noted the event and congratulated new Japanese authority.

"You know, i always loved listening to some Japanese Military marches from ww2. Altough Japan was far from humane, like every facist nation, neither where human democratic nations in their relentless bombing campaigins against people living under facists regimes, ultimately prooving that God has been forgoten long ago in democratic Christian nations, as much as in facist ones. We encourage Japanese new authority to not get defensive towards hypocritical democratic nations, who call for moral authority that they dont have. I respect Japan cause i know that we share something common, we share national pride, that was sadly mostly forgoten about after fall of Militaristic Japan. We encourage and congratulate new Japanese authority and people they will lead on this wise choice, and i sincerely hope that Japan will retain its once lost national pride and retain its lost national conherence that it had before failure in ww2."

Emperor proclaimed as the leader of the free world
It has been announced that the Emperor of Japan is now the leader of the 'free world', a title often occupied by the American President. This has come as the Emperor signed numerous bills bringing greater social liberalism and equality, as well as protecting those most vulnerable in society. Although this must was unexpected, it is not surprising. The West has become notorious in recent years for exploiting and abusing minorities, refusing to introduce greater legislation to protect them.

The first of these social reforms is the Act of Female Equality. This new law is meant to tackle female inequality in all areas of Japan. Female employees are to be paid the same hourly age as their male counterparts, given equal treatment in courts of law, same employment opportunities to men, and pregnant women are entitled to paid maternity leave and no longer having to 'wait the turn' to become pregnant.

Another key reform introduced is the Homosexuality Act. This act recognises same-sex couples and legalises same-sex marriage. On top of this, same-sex couples are now able to adopt children. These laws also reach the work place as companies cannot discriminate against homosexuals in any way.

The most beneficial and required reform is the Sexual Exploitation Act. This acts primarily target those under the age of 18 within the sex industry. Previous to this act, under age pornography was common within the Japanese sex industry, although it has been illegal for numerous decades. The famous, or more infamous, JK girls have become illegal. JK girls are under age girls, often attending high school, that have become active within the sex business, as 'JK cafe's' have attracted many older men to these under age girls. Chaku Ero and Lolicon have also been banned and erased, these often feature vulnerable and underage girls in erotic and revealing photos, which was perfectly legal previous to the act. The government is also taking a stronger stance on tackling sex related crimes, including rape and paedophilia. Those convicted of such crimes can now face the death penalty. The Emperor expressed his hopes that this act in particular would make a significant move in removing all impurities and evil from Japanese society.

Japan is now the only country in Asia, and one of only a handful in the world, to legalise gay marriage and female equal rights. This highlights that Japan is becoming the leader in many social aspects and areas, resolving any concerns that a return to the Imperial Monarchy rule also means a return to a backward and brutal society.

While the German government would remain quiet on the matter, Party Members of the HPDR, Prince Georg Friedrich in particular, would congratulate the Japanese government on its actions, but question such a bold claim by the Japanese media. Prince Friedrich would state that, while Japan certainly is now seeing an era of new economic and socio-political growth, its claim to "Leader of the Free World" without precedent outside of the Japanese sphere of influence like the United States had during the Cold War means little to the international community, at least on the part of German politics.
