To Mr. Pommellet,

Thank you for your comprehensive proposal submitted on behalf of Naval Group and Dassault Aviation regarding the tender for the Imperial Korean Navy's air power projection requirements. We appreciate the detailed insights and considerations provided in your accompanying letter.

After careful review, we are pleased to inform you that we accept your offer for the Charles de Gaulle Class Aircraft Carrier. We recognize the significant capabilities this vessel brings, particularly its ability to support full-sized aircraft operations through CATOBAR flight operations.

Additionally, we would like to exercise the option to purchase 55 Dassault Rafale M F3-R fighters to complement the aircraft carrier, ensuring a robust and effective air power projection capability for the Imperial Korean Navy.

Please let us know the next steps in formalizing this agreement and any further documentation required from our side.

We look forward to a successful partnership and the enhanced operational capabilities that this acquisition will bring to our naval forces.

Kindest Regards,
Yoon Kwang-ung
Minister of National Defence
Korean Empire

Your Excellency,

First of all I wish to thank you for your expressed confidence in our products. We will be sure to live up to your expectations. Prior to our tender we already secured permission from the Ministry of the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs to sell the Charles de Gaulle Class and Rafales to the Korean Empire. As such all formalities have been met.

Given the nature of the technology there are some restrictions imposed on the sale. These are a prohibition on reverse engineering any technology sold, a requirement to inform Naval Group of any sales to a third party, and a prohibition on the sale of technology to any nation the Empire of France has placed on its sanctions list. Beyond these restrictions you are free to use the technology however you please. And at this time only Canada has been placed on the sanctions list.

The cost for the purchase of just the Charles de Gaulle Class is $4,551,550,000.00, should you utilize your option to purchase 55 Dassaulr Rafale M F-3R another $4,753,473,450 would be added making for a total cost of $9,305,023,450. If you agree to these terms and the price we will begin production on your order immediately upon receipt of the payment and can deliver the order swiftly.

On behalf of the Imperial French Navy I also wish to inform you that they have extended an offer for up to 20 Korean officers, 10 Korean pilots and 100 Korean enlisted to join the Jeanne d'Arc and Charles de Gaulle to become familiar with the systems and operations while production is ongoing. This is of course without additional cost.

Yours sincerely,
Pierre-Eric Pommellet, Naval Group Chairman and CEO

To Mr. Pommellet,

Thank you for your detailed email outlining the terms and conditions associated with the purchase of the Charles de Gaulle Class and the Dassault Rafale M F-3R. We appreciate the clarity regarding the restrictions and the pricing structure.

We are pleased to confirm our intention to proceed with the purchase of the Charles de Gaulle Class, as well as the 55 Dassault Rafale M F-3R, totaling $9,305,023,450. However, we would like to discuss the possibility of structuring the payment in two installments: an initial payment of 50% upon confirmation of the order, followed by the remaining 50% upon delivery of the equipment.

We believe this arrangement could facilitate a smoother transaction for both parties. We are keen to move forward swiftly and look forward to your response regarding this proposal.

Additionally, we are very interested in the training offer for Korean personnel and would appreciate further details on that as well.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to your prompt reply.

Kindest Regards,
Yoon Kwang-ung

Your Excellency,

Considering the size of the order we are willing to grant you the requested payment plan. In this case we will require 50% paid prior to the construction commencing and once the two vessels and attached aircraft have been completed Korean authorities may inspect them to confirm their approval. They will then be released to Korean ownership upon the payment of the final 50%. If you agree to this we can commence production immediately as our shipyards stand ready.

Concerning the training. The Charles de Gaulle is currently stationed in Brest and patrolling Metropolitan French waters rather than on an international assignment. The Imperial Navy would welcome up to 20 Korean pilots, 5 Korean flight instructors, 50 flight crew, 50 regular officers and 250 other ship crew. Your personnel would then be matched with their French equivalents to initially witness operations and then under French supervision engage in it themselves. Your pilots specifically will also be trained on the intricacies of carrier flight operations, and your flight instructors on how to teach more pilots back in Korea. This way your Navy will receive the expertise in a short timeframe that will allow them to train more personnel back home and effectively transfer the French professionalism based on nearly a century of carrier operations to your own military and establish a long-lasting base to keep building on.

Yours sincerely,
Pierre-Eric Pommellet, Naval Group Chairman and CEO
