The CEO of Korean Industries makes a classified and encrypted telephone call to the French Government

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Vincent Quint, would answer the phone through an encrypted line.

"Hello, Minister Vincent Quint speaking. How may I help today?"

"Annyeonghaseyo Minister Quint. I am Mr Cheol, CEO of Korean Industries. We have recently been informed that our request to purchase military equipment, a Monge naval ship to be exact, has been refused. As the primary role of Korea Industries is to buy and sell military equipment on behalf of the government of the Republic of Korea, it is my responsibility to follow-up this matter. Therefore, for what reasons and why was this order denied?"

 

[Ellie]

"Good day, Mr. Cheol. The reasoning for the refusal of Korea's purchase of the Monge was nothing more than business and not personal. It has come to our attention that South Korea is a large supplier of military equipment to Brazil, specifically their navy. Due to what is currently going on and the lack of knowledge of South Korea's relationship with the 'nation' of South America, we have denied the Korean purchase for the safety of France.

I hope you understand."

"Ah, in that case, I can to some degree understand your decision. Though I am not a government minister and can't speak of South Korean policy, I can say and assure you that we have no political or military alignment with Brazil, and take a neutral position upon the global stage, hence our openness to receive customers from all around the world.

Despite this, I am curious about how these accusations of being a military supplier are founded, especially since we keep our purchases classified ...well, at the customer's desires."

"As much as I want to believe you, Mr. Cheol, for the safety of France, any sales to Brazil and its allies or suppliers will need to be done after this situation is over.

As for our knowledge of these supplies, your purchase and response forms are entirely public."
