To the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Greetings,

As the head of our Kingdom's foreign affairs, I am personally writing this email in an effort to reach out to my counterpart in the Netherlands with the hope of establishing ties between our countries once more. We are open to discussions regarding bilateral relations, trade, as well as foreign policy, if that is a matter of concern for your government.

With regards,
Yusef bin Ahmad

My government is eager to lay the foundation to a solid future of friendly cooperation, we see discussion on topics such as trade, defence and bilateral relations as being beneficial. Are you free for a state visit, perhaps? Unfortunately our King would not be able to attend, as he's assisting our department overseas at the moment. That said, my department and I are fully prepared and authorized to accept any foreign dignitaries on his behalf. Alternatively, we are more than willing to visit your own country if that's preferable, or continue to handle our affairs through encrypted emails.

With regards,
Yusef bin Ahmad

Dear Secretary,

I thank you for the offer, however I would like to suggest we hold of on a state visit until someone of an appropriate stature is available. However with that being said, I would be honoured to visit your nation on a working visit and to discuss various topics on which we could cooperate.

The honor would be mine to accept you here on behalf of my King! I'm certain he would be elated to hear of your visit, even if it was not officially on behalf of the state. My schedule is wide open if you wished to visit soon, and I have the authorization to have a private flight arranged for your convenience, courtesy of our royal government of course.

With regards,

Dear Secretary,

I graciously accept your offer, I believe it would be most efficient for your flight to arrive and take off from Rotterdam The Hague Airport, I'll ensure that I am ready to receive the flight once it arrives. On behalf of my government I just want to say we are eager to hold these talks as we see a bright future of cooperation between our two nations.

My office will be sending over a copy of the planned itinerary once I personally ensure we've got the best plane available prepared for the flight. I've enjoyed our brief exchange over emails, and will be there to greet you once you touch down in Singapore.

With regards,
Yusef bin Ahmad

Yusef would get to work as soon as he sent the final email off to his counterpart in the Netherlands. The royal government maintained a small fleet of private jets, and had recently acquired a handful of Dassault Falcon 50''s to replace the aging fleet they had acquired from the previous government. He would have one of these newer models prioritized to be refueled and prepped for the flight to Rotterdam The Hague Airport, where a private hangar would be reserved to allow the Minister to arrive at his convenience. In the mean time the flight would be refueled in preparation for the return journey home.

Secretary of State for Asian Affairs Adelbert Dirchs would grab the paperwork he'd require for the talks. From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he'd be driven to Rotterdam The Hague Airport by a single Diplomatic Security Officer from the National Police. Arriving at the airport he'd be fast-tracked through security on his diplomatic passport. He'd board the Singaporean private jet along with his security officer.

The two of them would enjoy the flight until they landed at Changi Airport Singapore where Dirchs would disembark to meet the waiting Singaporean Secretary. He stepped forward and extended his hand in a greeting, "Good day Mr Secretary, I'm Adelbert Dirchs Secretary of State for Asian Affairs."

Yusef would be on the ground by the time the flight had touched at Changi Airport. A firm handshake was exchanged when it was offered, and Yusef would lead the two into the back of the Black Escalade that would serve as their escort. "The pleasure is all mine now that we're all getting comfortable. I welcome you and your guest to Singapore, and I hope the flight was up to your expectations." Yusef would take the initiative in opening an expensive bottle of scotch, and pouring a glass for himself and Secretary Dirchs.

One would go to the secretary as Yusef displayed a soft grin at that moment. "A working visit to a kingdom in the tropics deserves aged vintage on the rocks. Enjoy, my friend, we've got much to discuss."

Secretary Dirchs would firmly shake the hand of the Singaporean, "I truly thank you for hosting me on such short notice. The flight was uneventful, which is always what I aim for."

He'd accept the glass and give the liquid a small swirl before taking a sip, he'd be surprised by the quality. "This tastes wonderful," he said with a smile before continuing with saying, "shall we get down to business?"

Yusef took a sip from his glass in unison with his guest before giving a small nod in response to Secretary Dirchs. "Certainly." He began, then sat the glass down after he savored another generous sip from the glass.

"Our little kingdom is one that believes in freedom and liberty, and the right for people to earn their way through society by their own merit. That said, a quick look to our northern neighbors will give you an idea on where our ideology stands in contrast to the rest of East Asia. It is an ever looming threat to our kingdom, and one that prevents the new regime of our people from going back into isolation. In fact, the opposite is clearly needed if we are to survive the coming tide, and that's one of the reasons we wished to establish a relationship with your own country."

Yusef allowed a moment for his words to sink in before speaking up briefly once again. "As for our King's motives, or ambitions for our nation... I'm free to answer questions on foreign policy, or anything else you're interested in as well."

"I can admit your administrations previous governance of the country was impressive. You managed to bring your nation to the top of international politics, while my government did disagree with certain policy decisions we have the utmost respect for you and your fellow colleagues in the administration."

"We too see Asia increasingly turning communistic, which is why we will be seeking to bolster cooperation with the few remaining democracies in the far east. How will you continue your foreign policy in regards to the socialist nations of Vietnam, China, Taiwan and Japan?"

"Trust and believe that there are certain policies enacted by the previous administration that we too, disagree with." Yusef would comment with a feint chuckle, the glass pressing against his lips once again as he quietly took in a sip of his drink. The next question was a delicate one for him to answer, and one which he -- like many other Singaporeans -- would struggle to separate his bias from.

"To put it bluntly, our policy towards the Communist powers of Asia is one of armed neutrality, not unlike the same policy which your own country once held nearly half a century ago. Singapore is our home, and rightfully so there are many who believe that the freedoms that we hold are worth protecting at all costs. The monarchy which we've established did not blind us to the republican ideals that were our nation's foundation, and there's a warm place in the lowest parts of hell for those who conspire to strip our people of the values that we cherish. To that point we've not made any formal attempts to reach out to the communist bloc as a whole or individually, although we've had minor business agreements with the two Chinas in the past."

"I would like to commend your governments approach to the situation in Asia and we will continue to offer our support to ensure your independence as the bastion of democracy in the Far East. I also look at your successful approach on mixing republicanism with monarchism with a hint of envy."

"I believe that our nations could cooperate on a range of topics, however I have to ask you on your nations stance in regards to the Global Assembly as we've seen a wave of nations leaving the organisation."

"Thank you once again, my friend. The support is appreciated greatly during a time where finding friends in one's own backyard is seemingly impossible. All praise aside, I believe our Kingdom has alot to learn from a more established monarchy such as the Netherlands. Our ideals are not what one would call conventional, as we're treading a thin line between being a Monarchy and something else entirely. I could get into the nuances of the Wei family and the corporate elite in charge of Lion Defense, but it's a rather confusing affair to those outside of our Kingdom. I can assure you though that beneath the web of our burgeoning bureacracy, the Republic's framework has mostly been kept in tact. Our citizens well-being comes first, as they are the blood that keeps the Kingdom alive."

Yusef smirked. "It seems my attempt at being concise still ended up quite long-winded." He'd take another sip of his drink before continuing to speak once again. "As for the recent wave of Anti-GA sentiment, I can safely say that our Kingdom is rather impartial towards both sides of the argument. My personal feelings are a bit stronger, as I appreciate it's intention but am not the biggest fan of the execution. As with most organizations on that scale, there remains quite a bit of tweaking to how it functions before i'd consider it paying off the dividends which are subtracted from our reserves. For the time being we're rather content with lettings things be, considering its inaction as of recent."

"Well, I am glad to see your government will not be running away from the responsibility of maintaining peace and stability through cooperation on an international scale. I believe that this wave of anti-GA sentiment, as you call it, is mostly due to the lack of leadership due to the Secretary General falling ill (Hollie's LOA). I truly hope those that have left will one day return, however we must keep a close eye on them as they no longer recognise international law agreed upon by the Global Assembly."

"Which topics would you like to discuss today?"

"For starters, I don't believe our Kingdom has an actual Embassy in your country. Truth be told, the former Republic has dotted the globe with many consulates around the globe, but we don't have an established embassy in the Netherlands as of yet. My King's interests include the establishment of a functioning embassy to serve alongside the consulate if possible."

"Ah, I must admit I was unaware of the fact that Singapore does not maintain an embassy in the Netherlands." He'd quickly open his briefcase and pick up a document he'd received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He quickly scanned through the document before looking back up, "I see that Singapore has been assigned a consulate in Rotterdam. Would your government be interested in opening an embassy in The Hague?"

"If there's any real estate available, we'd most certainly like to establish an embassy in The Hague." Yusef sat down the glass as he reached for a small tablet and navigated through it briefly. "Hmm.. let's see. Considering this will be the first embassy opened up for our administration, I'm willing to dedicate several million towards the purchase a preexisting building or the land to build one entirely. Of course we're willing to tackle any fees that may come with it as well."
