AUTHENTIC COMMUNIQUE OF THE OFFICE OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Security Clearance: Secure and Encrypted
[Recipient]: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France Alexander
[Sender]: Office of the Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany < @BEluckeMOFA.de.gov >
[BCC]:[Subject]: Letter of Condemnation/TD]
[TD]
Dear whom it may concern,

The Federal Republic of Germany expresses its unequivocal condemnation of France's recent actions, characterized by economic coercion, with the apparent objective of influencing a change in the democratically elected government of Germany. We issue this statement in the strongest terms to underscore our firm rejection of these egregious and unlawful maneuvers.

The German Government, as the democratically elected representative of the German people, stands at the core of our nation's sovereignty. France's imposition of sanctions against the government and legitimate democratic parties of Germany is not only unacceptable but also constitutes a serious infringement on the sovereignty of our nation. We categorically reject such blatant violations of international law.

In response to these coercive measures, Germany is resolved to provide legal protection to its shares in Airbus, including its subsidiaries and German counterparts. We firmly reject France's attempt to weaponize the partially German-owned European multinational corporation. This corporation, integral to our nation's economic landscape, will be shielded by all legal means to ensure its continued operation within German borders.

It is imperative to emphasize that France holds no occupational powers over Germany, as stipulated in the Treaty of Final Settlement with Respect to Germany. Any suggestion to the contrary is not grounded in international law, and we vehemently reject such unfounded assertions. We demand an immediate cessation of these baseless claims that only serve to undermine the principles of sovereignty and international law. We immediately demand you end such baseless assertions.

The actions taken by France are not only an affront to peace in Europe but also a direct assault on peace, freedom, and sovereignty. We reject this attempt to coerce German capitulation. Germany resolutely rejects all such attempts and will take every necessary and lawful measure to safeguard our national interests, sovereignty, and the indomitable spirit of the German people.

This condemnable act threatens the stability of our region and challenges the principles that underpin the European order. We call upon France to reconsider its actions and end its coercive measures. Germany remains committed to upholding the values of peace, freedom, and the sovereignty of nations. We anticipate a swift and appropriate response from France, acknowledging the gravity of its actions and committing to rectify this breach of international law.

In light of these actions the German Government shall exhaust all international recourses to protect itself, hold France accountable, and provide justice to those afflicted by these illegal actions.

Signed,
Bernd Lucke
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany

Subject: Sanctions Regime

Your Excellency,

Through this message I wish to inform you that Le Monde is not an official publication of the French government but rather an entirely independent newspaper. The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs has issued a
statement clarifying that no French department or official has at any point linked the sanctions regime to an intent to overthrow the German government or influence its internal affairs. In fact we have clarified that France considers itself a protector of the peace in Europe and that the internal affairs of European countries are their own.

However exercising that same sovereignty, the French government has exercised its rights to deny specific foreign nationals access to the country, and to bar specific French businesses from trading with Germany. This in no way, shape, or form is a violation of German sovereignty and is an exercise of French sovereignty to administer who can access its territory and who French nationals can trade with.

After petitions from Airbus and other industry leaders that the export restrictions would pose an undue strain on German nationals uninvolved with the German government the Empress has decided to rescind that segment of the package.

Only the first measure of the sanctions package will remain in place.

Sincerely,
Sophie Dubois,
Ministre de l'Europe et des Affaires étrangères,
