AUTHENTIC COMMUNIQUE OF THE OFFICE OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS Security Clearance: Secure and Encrypted |
[Recipient]: Office of the Prime Minister < Jamie > [Sender]: Office of the President of the Russian President < MAnatova@Kremlin.ru.gov > [Subject]: Letter of Condolence |
Your Excellency Prime Minister Adams It is with a heavy heart that I write to express my deepest condolences on behalf of the Russian Federation following the horrific and cowardly terrorist attacks that have struck London today. The loss of innocent lives, and the suffering endured by so many in your country, is a tragedy that resonates deeply with us all. The Russian Federation is no stranger to the scourge of terrorism. We, too, have faced these senseless and violent acts, and we understand the deep pain and fear they cause. Today, as you grieve, please know that the people of Russia stand with the people of the United Kingdom in your sorrow and in your resolve. In this moment of darkness, it is often easy to focus on those who would spread the message of division and exploit hatred. However, even in the darkness, it is reassuring to see selfless acts of bravery and the deep unity of your emergency responders and citizens. It offers a glimmer of light in a tunnel of darkness that has eclipsed your island nation. Their courage in the face of such horror is inspiring, and we commend them for their selflessness. I want to reassure you that Russia is ready to offer any support necessary in your efforts to respond, recover, and bring those responsible to justice. We stand with you in the fight against terrorism, and we will do whatever it takes to help ensure such violence is eradicated. As President of the Russian Federation, I join the Russian people in praying for the swift recovery of the many who are injured. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and all those affected by this tragedy. Please know that in this difficult moment, Russia remains your friend. We are united in our commitment to peace, security, and the dignity of every life. With deepest sympathy and solidarity, Boris Nemstov, President of the Russian Federation |
