Cairo - The CEO fo EgyptAir announced jointly with the Minister of Infrastructure and Transportantion that as part of the national efforts to increase tourism and position Egypt as a hub to connect the West and the East, the national carrier EgyptAir will begin operating direct routes from Cairo to Tokyo, Japan, and Caito to Sao Paolo, Brazil. These new routes will have a initial frequency of 3 flights per week, on tuesday, thursday and sunday, and will be followed by possible codesharing agreements with brazilian and japanese carriers to facilitate internal flights in those two nations. These new routes are the result of the egyptian governments communications and exchanges with two major global actors such as Brazil and Japan. Specialists agree that this will not only increase the trafic of businessmen between the nations, easing up the process of establishing new trade and investment deals, but also boost tourism between among nations. The new routes will also allow japanese and brazilian citizens to connect through Cairo and have almost direct flights between Tokyo and Sao Paolo. |
