Dear Secretary Lawrence Adams (Jamie),

Firstly I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Charelle hesseling and I have recently been appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Kingdom of the Netherlands. From records the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland have had a strong friendship and it's my administrations wishes to continue this strong relation. I'd like to invite you to the Kingdom of the Netherlands to personally meet with myself, if you cannot attend then we'd be more than happy to accept a representative from your nation to discuss various topics which includes European Security, Global Affairs and Trade between our two nations. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

With regards,
Ms Charelle Hesseling

Due to other engagements and to avoid the unnecessary wait times between email exchanges, the British Ambassador to the Netherlands, Jon Young, was assigned to meet with the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs to discuss the email. A memo was sent ahead to advise to the Minister of the Ambassadors availability and requested immediate attendance. If approved, Jon would ensure he was on time to meet at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss bilateral relations.

With the memo of the British Ambassador attending instead of the British Secretary of State, an armed convoy from the Dutch Politie would arrive outside the British Embassy to escort the British Ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. With that being said once the memo was sent, a reply would be issued to the British Ambassador to notify him of the convoy arriving shortly. Once the Ambassador enters his vehicle, he would be escorted to the Ministry where the Foreign Minister would be waiting.

Following acceptance of the meet in person, Jon was eager to leave the Embassy to meet the security detail kindly provided by the Dutch Politie, he introduced himself and boarded to be transported to meet the Foreign Minister. After a short trip, he'd exit the vehicle and approach the Foreign Minister extending his hand "Good Afternoon" he smiled.

The Foreign Minister would extend her hand to the British Ambassador to shake it firmly. With lines of reporters already there to take photos of the other foreign dignitaries who are meeting with other Ministers from the Foreign Ministry, the Foreign Minister would suggest a few photos to mark the start of the friendship between the British and the Dutch. If the suggestion was approved, then the Minister would stand smiling next to the British Ambassador before gesturing to move inside the building, where a conference room would be set up with various refreshments and food from both the British and Dutch culture along with two flag poles draping both the British Flag and Dutch Flag.

The Foreign Minister would pour herself a glass of water, taking a sip then clearing his throat "I hope you had a pleasant trip with the Politie? How are things within the United Kingdom?" he'd pause gesturing for a seat to be taken, taking a seat opposite the British Ambassador

Jon extended his hand to the Foreign Ministers, shaking it as he smiled "Pleasure to meet you" spoke Jon, smiling for the cameras which surrounded the pair, happy to oblige. Shortly after, he'd move into the conference room and quite happily welcome himself to the refreshments before sitting down. "It was great, thank you." he added "I'd like to say it's been going stable, we've had a bit of an up and down with the potential rise of the Irish Republican Army but it seems to be dissipating fortunately. I think a lot of eyes are now turning to the whole incident in Romania and Moldova but even that is looking promising. May I ask how your government has been since entering office? No doubt plenty of administration to be doing in the background to get up and running."

"The pleasure is all mine, I've heard of the Republic Army surfacing and I'm glad it's looking great for the British public. If there is anything, we can do I'm sure we will help in whatever way we can. Yes, the troubles in Moldova is a worrying one, especially for the European Region, it's why we called for a GA meeting. European security is a top priority for this administration. " the Minister paused, taking another sip of the water before continuing "Our government has been going steady, a lot of things are looking up for us. We contacted Great Britain first, because we know from the former administration that you two had strong ties which we wish to keep. Friendship is important as security and I believe a strong friendship between our two nations can ensure security to a high level within the European region."

The minister paused once again, pulling a document from a folder that was sat on the table, before sliding it into the middle of the two "In this folder, I believe would be a beneficial agreement. Most likely one of the first to be done within the globe at this time, it sets out an extradition agreement which would be the first step of many to ensure security for the European region, not just between our two nations. This will allow us to both extradite those we believe our guilty until proven innocent. I understand this could be a shock to by approaching it differently compared to other meetings you may have missed, but our administration strongly believe in security is a top priority along with the other topics such as trade which we can discuss further in the meeting"

"Thank you, your offer to assist is much appreciated and I'm relieved to hear of the growing success with your government and we are most certainly eager to see a prosperous relationship between the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, as we had with your previous government. European Security is certainly at the top of our agenda too as that is much closer to home but we would also like to see peace around the world and to support any cause that seems to end violence, and supports those in need however possible." smiled Jon, leaning over to inspect the document pushed over to him. "Curious" he thought to himself, almost reassured by the obvious commitment to security and the keen interest in an extradition agreement "I'll be honest, and I can spend the time to read this but unfortunately it's not my decision to sign it. If it's suitable for you, I'd like to take the copy with me to present to the British Parliament as the onus is on them to agree. This would also save us some time and allow us to move onto the next priority topic you would like to raise."

"Certainly, I'm more than happy for you to take a copy back with you!" the Minister paused, getting up from their seat towards the snacks on the table taking some back to the table with him before continuing "We'd like to initiate trade between the Netherlands and Great Britain, we are currently awaiting our newly purchased fleet to arrive before we can deliver but I believe getting the fundamentals down would be best. The Netherlands can offer the following; Machinery and transport equipment, Chemicals, Mineral fuels, Food and Livestock and manufactured goods would any of these benefit the great people of Great Britain?"Jamie

"Amazing, thank you" Jon responded, "Trade agreements are something we are happy to sign and I would be able to authorize, and based on your main exports, we'd actually like to receive them all if suitable. In return, I won't offer what you are already proposing but we can offer Pharmaceuticals, Precious Metals and Cars if any of these are something you would be interested in?" The British Ambassador adjusted himself in his seat, making himself more comfortable. "I believe weekly transit should be suffice via freight, we have a sufficient Merchant Navy to comply with that if you are in agreement?"

"That's great to hear, that you're willing to accept the whole main exports. We'd be more than happy to accept what you are proposing, as well within the next few days we can accommodate a weekly trip. Which port would you like the exports sent too?" the Minister would get up, moving over to the refreshments helping themselves to another drink and some snacks waiting for the Ambassador to reply

"Great news, we can definitely go ahead and get those started, we'll go for Portsmouth please. Where would you like our goods to be transported too in the Netherlands?" he responded. "I'm also intrigued to know, following the conclusion of trade, what else may be on your agenda that you'd like to discuss?"

Great to hear, we will get the goods delivered to Portsmouth in return we’d like them delivered to Rotterdam. Yes, we’d like to talk defence, from my understanding the previous administration and the United Kingdom had strong defence ties, I propose a mutual exercise either in Dutch or British waters for our Royal Marines to home their defence skills

"Splendid, we will get that arranged with the International Trade Organisation if you would like to submit your suggested routes when you get a moment. We would be happy to arrange an exercise if this is something the Dutch Marines would like to organise and lead? We would just need to know a date and the forces you would be committing to the exercise and we will reciprocate as such." There was a short pause "I am also interested to hear your opinions on a few matters, including your thoughts on the Nordic Council and by extension, the recent auction made by Russia on the sale of their major defence companies?"

I shall pass all the necessary information onto the Defence Department and ensure they email you as soon as we are done here regarding the training exercise.” the foreign minister paused, taking a drink before continuing “In regards to the Nordic Council, you can’t really call it Nordic if they are allowing none Nordic countries to join, just makes it defunct and pointless as I believe it’s sole purpose was for the Nordic nations. With Russia selling shares, it’s very worrying but also reassuring indeed, they must be loosing their global stance which helps us know that they are no longer a threat but as always we will keep our eyes and ears out for them, as you never know something could happen in the future.

"That would be amazing, thank you very much" Jon replied, "It is interesting to hear your thoughts on the Nordic Council, as you may know, we are currently looking into joining with full membership. The benefits of working together with others is always of vital importance to Her Majesty's Government. So it appears our views are quite, bipolar; when it comes to the Nordic Council. Especially from a military and political stand point of working together. Whilst Russia, and now Europe, is going through quite the economic struggle, might I ask how the Netherlands is looking to handle the turn of events?"
