Shock Polls show Nigerian Communist Party as leading opposition to PDP Stronghold in Nigerian Elections.

The newly invigorated Nigerian Communist Party is shocking political pundits across the nation as the first bi election polling results show them leading amongst all left wing opposition to the People's Democratic Party, the Party that has ruled Nigeria for decades. Communist Rallies took place all across the country with thousands of left wing students and protesters gathering in the streets suggesting that PDP Attorney Generals had been dragging their feet in certifying hundreds of Communist Candidates in local elections. The Jonathan Government had no comment on the topic.

In Kano State, where one of the countries most important Governorships is up in an open election, the new Communist Party Chairman, Dikembe Olliwaaru, only trails the Democratic candidate by 3 points. This shock poll, along with the announcement of the merging of the Nigerian Workers' Coalition, the Nigerian Socialist Party, and the Green Environment Nigeria Now Party all into the Communist Party of Nigeria gives the Party a strong foothold of seats in the National Assembly. Little International attention has been paid to Nigerian elections in recent years, but perhaps this is the intrigue they needed.

Jonathan Government lays down ambitious plan for the future.

President Goodluck Jonathan in an address to the Joint Nigerian Congress laid down an ambitious agenda for Nigeria's future to strong applause. The plan focused around three major areas, the first stage, the reorganization and rearmament of the Nigerian Armed Forces is near completion with almost all units at full strength. The second arm of the plan focused around internal reforms to Nigeria began in earnest today with the government passing strict bans on child labor under the age of 14 and heavy restrictions on labor between the ages of 15 and 17, including hour restrictions and dangerous activity limitations, these laws were placed under the enforcement of the Nigerian National Guard which began strict enforcement yet unseen in Nigerian Child Labor Law history. Despite the factory owners protests, the strong belied that this will soak up male employment and increase education has lead to strong popular support of the move. The government further transfer internal affairs and anti corruption offices under the jurisdiction of the National Guard which has begun a severe campaign to rid local police and administrations of corruption. In several cities celebrations have broken out as the National Guard arrests and charges several police chiefs and councilmen.

The final wave of the Jonathan plan will be massive infrastructure investment including massive nuclear power plants, new oil refineries, modernization of schools, hospitals, buildings, roads, and water systems. A total of 30 billion in spending is allocated over the next two years to these projects.

President Goodluck Jonathan address joint session of National Assembly, All of Nigeria

"Fellow Nigerians, people of Northern Nigeria, and people of the world, a few days ago, Nigerians set about their daily lives as normal. As lives improve, as corruption, as unemployment dry up, their lives improve, many of those lives were shattered. They were shattered in a senseless, horrific, attack by Boko Haram on our Northern Provinces, but this attack is an attack on all Freedom loving Nigerians, on all Freedom loving Africans. These groups of extremists fight to hold back the progress of our nation. They fight to hold back law and order.

Our National Assembly, our military, our allies, and our people will not be shaken or frightened by these cowards who strike civilians and seek to cause panic. We will not flee from them. Already our National Guard has bled to help keep the peace, and if needed they are ready to bleed more. We will out last these dying extremists. We will not be defeated in our push for a modern and free Africa.

As our people mourn we also prepare. We prepare for Justice. We prepare for progress. We prepare to honor those lives lost through the sacrifices of our work and labor to make Nigeria and Africa a place of freedom and prosperity for all people. We will host our elections. They will be free and they will be fair, and of this you have my word. We will enforce your freedoms and your rights. We will protect our people.

Thank you and may God Bless Nigeria."

President Goodluck Jonathan address joint session of National Assembly, All of Nigeria, again

"It is true, Boko Haram has struck once again, this time targeting our rural villages, and killing many, and scattering the population of the village. Their savage attack, is an example of their indiscriminate killing, and their true agenda of terror. They may claim religious motives, but this is no religious movement. This is not Islam, these people who they killed today were Muslims. They were Muslims and they were Nigerians, and Boko Haram is neither. I have authorize Lt. General Buhari to use the National Guard to bring the Northern Provinces under order, so that law and security may once again be secured while our military forces and our allies act against the insurgents.

This will be a struggle, but it is a struggle that is necessary for all of Nigeria, for all of Africa to prosper. We must put down this enemy of humanity and progress. We must stop them from inflicting damage on our growing and stable republic. We must protect the ideals and the prosperity that our nation was founded on. We Nigerians, will protect our future, we will fight this monster together, united, Christians, and Muslims, all Nigerians. We will be a united front. These monsters will not divide us, their rhetoric will fail.

As we mourn the loss of our brothers in the North we double down on our resolve to fight our new enemy. To defeat our enemy, to unify our nation, and to move us forward once again."

Jonathan Government passes large scale smuggling, illegal oil industry amnesty program

In a measure with broad and sweeping definitions, amnesty has been offered to all those involved in the illegal oil industry as well as all those involved in the crimes related to smuggling. The Jonathan Government with massive support from the legislature has begun a large scale campaign to end smuggling and illegal oil refining within Nigeria, a one time amnesty offer is the central part of the plan, which will also include large scale re education and re employment into new government sponsored energy programs. The Jonathan government has also announced the transfer of jurisdiction of all smuggling and illegal oil refining law enforcement over the Nigerian National Guard. The Nigerian National Guard has a reputation for being exceptionally loyal to the PDP and the Jonathan Government, and has a history of anti-corruption enforcement. They will provide the support and enforcement in this latest push against illegal activity in Nigeria.
