1st Home Guard Regiment

x1,000 Home Guardsmen

2nd Home Guard Regiment

x1,000 Home Guardsmen

Strategic Airlift Squadron #1

x20 Antonov 70

x40 Pilots x160 Airmen

With permission granted by the Soviet Government in Russia for a deployment of 2,000 units to Moscow to support the new revolution, the Ukrainian Department of Defense would authorize Operation Kremlin Support and activate the 1st and 2nd Home Guard Regiments, the men of the Regiments would deploy from their base to the Kyiv Capitol Air Base. They would all carry AK-47 rifles, battle kits, grenades, extra ammunition, and medical kits. Each Squadron of 25 men would have two mortar teams and two heavy machine gun teams. At the Kyiv Captiol Air Base, the Strategic Airlift Squadron #1 would prepare to air lift all 2,000 men and their equipment, as well as bonus logistics, food and fuel for the Russian cause, from Kyiv to Moscow.

The Logistics crew at the Kyiv Captiol Air Base would ensure that all aircraft were flight ready. They would ensure that the aircraft were fully fueled and safe for take off. At this point the crew would and pilots would load into their respective aircraft. x7 of the Antonov An-70 Airlift Aircraft would be fully fueled with the troops. These aircraft would prepare to take on their soldiers, at which point the squadrons of the 1st and 2nd Home Guard would load into the aircraft they were assigned to. Each aircraft would carry 286 Home Guardsmen. Once they were loaded they would taxi and wait to take off. While this was happening the remaining x13 Antonov An-70 Airlift Aircraft of the Squadron would be loaded to max capacity of 47,000kg with supplies, including; rations, ammunition, explosives, medical equipment, radios, and other logistical equipment. They would then taxi into take off position.

With all aircraft loaded with their designated loadouts, the aircraft would taxi and take off safely, and cautiously, They would then climb to 30,000 feet and form a loose squadron formation. They would fly for Moscow, alerting Russian Air Command and Air Traffic Control of their impending arrival, seeking permission to land as well as a location.

All Air Travel occurs within KO.

Kursk Vostochny Airport

On approach into Russian airspace, the Ukrainians would be granted permission to land at Sheremetyevo International Airport which was currently under locked with commercial flights having been canceled. However after being granted permission to enter the airspace, and told where to land they would be informed that they would be under escort by the 1st Kubinka Squadron. The 15 Su-27S (Su-27 / "Flanker-B") were fully fueled to max capacity, and crewed by Russian Airforce Pilots. With a full system and safety check having been undergone they would also be outfitted with 6 × R-27R and 4 × R-73E AAMs with it's 1 × 30 mm Gryazev-Shipunov GST-30-1 autocannon being given 150 rounds. One at a time they would fly up to an altitude of 30,000 ft before orbiting around the airport and getting into three wedge formations with 1,000 ft between each aircraft. Three miles between each wedge they would move to intercept the Ukrainian aircraft at a cruise speed of 839 mph.

However, the 6972nd Air Superiority Regiment detecting the Ukrainian formation with the aid of the 2nd Air Defence Division would quickly scramble to bring out 15 MiG-29M and fuel them. Their regiment had not sided with the Coup in Moscow, and this formation from Ukraine meant only one thing. The Ukrainians were coming to reinforce Moscow, which the Colonel of this Air Regiment did not want to see happen. Their reaction speed, however, was hampered by the slow speed and delayed response from the Air Defence Division which was refusing to shoot the Ukrainians down. They didn't intend to either, but rather to try and warn them off. They were armed with 4 × R-73E and 3 × R-27R with their 1 × 30 mm Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-30-1 autocannon with 150 rounds being topped off. One at a time they scrambled into the air, to an altitude of 40,000 ft at a cruise speed of
760 mph. Three wedge formations with aircraft spacing being 1,200 ft and distance between aircraft being 3 miles.

The pilots of Strategic Airlift Squadron #1, in a loose formation allowing 1 mile of distance between one another, would receive the message to land at Sheremetyevo International Airport, as they broke into Russian Air Space, their sensors would be active, they would prioritize troop aircraft landing first, having them at the head of the formation, they would begin to descend altitude and prepare for landing, they were roughly 40 minutes from their first aircraft landing, the distance between Kiev and Moscow being relatively short. They would confirm their flight paths and signatures with Flight control at Sheremetyevo International Airport, as well as acknowledge the dispatching of a fighter escort.

As they descended they would make radio contact with their incoming fighter escort..

"This is Colonel Vasily Sherymentov of the Ukrainian Soviet Air Force, confirming fighter escort."

"This is Podpolkovnik Sapalyov Yanovich of the 1st Kubinka Squadron. Fighter escort is confirmed. Can you verify your current airspeed? Over" the formations of Su-27S were closing in on the Ukrainian Aircraft, making a B-Line for them. While their aircraft was on scope, something else came up, and was no fast approaching."Podpolkovnik Sapalyov Yanovich here again, we have fifteen unscheduled aircraft showing up on the scope. They are ten thousand feet above... and approaching." going to the short-range he would quickly order a combat spread, which the Air Knight would do so with practiced precision. A vertical distance of 1500 feet. Three above, two bellows for each of the three formations.

"This is Podpolkovnik Chmykhov Romanovich of the 6972nd Air Superiority Regiment. Ukrainian Aircraft will turn around or be shot down. This is your first and final warning." The three formations of MiG-29M would also go into a combat spread, but they had the energy advantage. Still being a distance out from weapon lock range the three formations of Su-27S would begin to climb to try and get at energy, however quickly they noticed the MiG-29M formations climbed as well to maintain the advantage. So they ceased, not wanting to expend any further energy."Podpolkovnik Sapalyov Yanovich speaking. The Ukrainian Aircraft have the authorization to be in Russian airspace. You will disengage." Podpolkovnik Chmykhov Romanovich would quickly snap back."Authorization to help the coup you mean? Turn around or we will bury you."

The Ukrainian Aircraft, consistently descending towards the airfield and its landing strips, would receive the radio notification of unknown bogeys approaching from above and to their rear. He would reply to the 1st Kubinka Squadron, "Cruising speed of 400knots confirmed over, we are going to descend and land prioritizing our troops." He would then switch to communicate with air traffic control at the airfield. "This is Colonel Vasily Sherymentov of the 1st Ukrainian Strategic Airlift Squadron requesting immediate permission to land our scheduled twenty Antonov An 70 airlifters, priority on Seven transporting troops."

Finally he would issue a command to his own squadron to break into loose formations, supply transports to descend slower, prioritizing the landing of the seven An-70 carrying the Home Guard Regiments. The Airlift Squadron could certainly get on the ground in a pinch, and they were putting that to the test here as the Colonel rushed his pilots into landing formation.

Now that he had issued his orders and communicated his intentions to his allies, he would attempt to radio the incoming 6972nd Air Superiority Regiment. "This is Colonel Vasily Sherymentov of the Ukrainian Air Force, we are on authorization from the recognized government of Russia, as well as the Government of the Ukraine. Any attack on Ukrainian Aircraft will be viewed as an attack on Ukraine."

Without obtaining clearance or communication from the Russian Government, all deployed assets from the Ukraine would withdraw from Russian airspace immediately and make their way back to the Kyiv Air Force Base from which they had taken off from, they would maintain altitude and carefully change direction, maintaining formation and ensuring no accidents, once over Ukrainian Airspace, the formation would drop to a lower altitude and head directly for the Airforce base, air traffic control ensuring clear skies enroute. The formation would land safely and carefully, ensuring no accidents and the crews would taxi their aircraft to unloading positions. The Home Guard Regiments would disembark and help the logistics personnel on the ground to ensure speedy and orderly load off of supplies. Once all assets were unloaded the aircraft would be taxied into their secured hangars and maintenance crews would perform post flight checks and maintenance as needed. The Home Guard Regiments would return to base.

Operation would be considered cancelled at this time.

Operation Ended
Following the collapse of Hardliner Communist support all operations would have been cancelled. The issue having been surprisingly resolved without much in the way of bloodshed or escalation. Much like before a massive organized movement of protesters had disrupted the movements of communist loyal forces. Lead by democratic forces they managed to get the Communist hardliners to stand down, and in conjunction with the approaching fleet gave the Democratic forces much needed leverage. However this all came at a great cost in stability. This forced the Yeltsin cabinet to focus on internal matters for the next two years.

All said and done, all military units would have returned to their initial locations and stood down.
