Operation Salvation
Medical Operation to Japan

Background:

In light of the recent terror attacks in Japan and the call for international Aid, Poland has decided, with approval from the Japanese Government, to send a taskforce of medical Personnel to assist the struggling healthcare sector in dealing with the mass casualty incident. A group of doctors and nurses have been assigned the C-5A to fly into Kobe International Airport to set up emergency medical stations near hospitals, sports centers, and recreational areas effected the worst by the tragedy within this tri-city area. The Mercy-class Hospital ship located in New Caledonia has also been placed on standby to go underway towards Japan should the situation require its services.

Polish Royal Air Force141x C-5A Galaxy

Preclude:

Once the confirmation of orders was sent to the Royal Medical Service, the men and women assigned to it began their established procedures for deploying. Medical supplies were inspected to insure sterility before being packed aboard hardened containers that would protect them during flight. Syringes, medications, surgical supplies, and the like were soon loaded into the expansive cargo hold of the C-5A Galaxy that would be transporting them to the nation of Japan. Additional supplies would also be loaded on that would benefit the current situation on the ground. Equipment to perform tests to detect the chemical used would be loaded on next, while medications and equipment to treat and detoxify a person and area were loaded up last. In total the cargo bay of the C-5A was not full which would allow additional seating to be installed for the Polish doctors and nurses to utilize.

Once everything, and everyone, was loaded the plans would prepare for departure after being inspected by the ground crews and fully fueled to insure the aircraft was airworthy. The pilots would be fully rested and dressed in their proper uniform for flight. The pilots would undergo their own pre-flight checks and insure equipment was on board in case of landing in the wilderness or a water landing. Food and water as well as emergency life rafts were ensured to be aboard the aircraft before they began making their way to the runway and taking off.

As the C-5A Galaxy closed in on Japanese Airspace and the intended airport of Kansai International Airport, they would follow any and all instructions by Air Traffic Controllers during their descent and landing phase. The C-5A Galaxy would make a safe and controlled landing onto the runway before taxiing down the designated runway and into the designated parking spot before the "knight's visor" would rise up in the front and reveal the inner cargo bay containing all the equipment and personnel being delivered to assist the Japanese people. The C-5A had no listed return date and would be used to assist the return of Polish personnel once the mission had been concluded by the Japanese government.

Once all personnel and equipment was removed from the aircraft, the C-5A crew would perform post flight checks and the commanding officer would contact the relevant Polish official within Japan to inform them of their arrival and to assist in obtaining lodgings for the Polish Personnel and the Polish flight crew during the stay. They would also have the Polish official reach out to the Japanese government to inform them of their arrival and any needs they may have in moving equipment to the desired locations to assist in the decontamination and treatment of effected persons.

After an extended length of zero-communication from the Japanese Government, the Polish contingent within Japan would pack up their equipment and personnel aboard the C-5A and begin the trip back to Poland after insuring the crew was well rest and the aircraft was topped off with fuel. During the flight the Polish contingent would perform their debriefing amongst the members present and take final inventory of supplies aboard the aircraft, carefully notating everything within the onboard ledger. Once they landed in Poland they would be sure to file their report to their superiors who would file their own report to the Ministry of National Defense. The Ministry of National Defense would then prepare a press release about the success of the operation.
