Thank you for your warm welcome and kind congratulations.

The people of Turkey and myself are appreciative of your understanding of our situation. Throughout history Turkey has always been a bridge between Europe and Asia, and by extension directly impacted by any instability occurring in this border area between our two continents. The ongoing Syrian civil war fills us with both concern for our own security as well as sympathy for the plight of the many innocent Syrians falling victim to tyranny and chaos.

As we chart our course with regards to this and other diplomatic situations we welcome cooperation with other interested states.
