PROJECT INFORMATION | Construction, expansion and modernization of the naval and aerial facilities at: Puerto Belgrano Naval Base Mar del Plata Naval Base Ushuaia Naval Base The project would consist of the construction, expansion and adaptation of the portuary and aerial facilities in the mentioned stations in order to accomodate several large sized argentine navy ships and the operation of naval aviation units. The works would consist of at least: - Expansion of dock capacity to host an ample number of large size ships. - Construction of warehouses, deposits, fuel silos, repair docks. - Construction of ramps and installation of loading cranes and refueling systems. - Dragging of waterways to guarantee safe operation for large hull ships and submarines. - Installation of naval and aerial surveillance radars. - Establishment of a secure perimeter with security fences, cameras and control and checkpoints. - Autonomous energy generator. - Edification of fiving quarters for all crews and posted personnel. - Aerial facilities, hangars, control tower, equipment, operation tarmac and 2x 3,962m runway. - Underground hangars with direct access to the tarmac, capable of holding large sized aircrafts (Tu-22M3 size) - Landing and air operation assists and systems. - All other structures and systems required for the safe operations of argentine navy units (air and sea). The Comodoro Rivadavia and Rio Gallegos Naval bases (recently constructed and expanded) would also receive some improvements to hold a bigger number of ships and aircraft, due to the increasing size of the Argentine Navy.
