PROJECT INFORMATION | Cascade Power Project is a 900 megawatt (MW) combined cycle power generation facility being constructed in Yellowhead County, approximately 12 kilometers southwest of Edson, Alberta. The Project will be located on crown lands on a 52-hectare site and will have the capacity to supply over 8% of the province’s average electricity demand. The facility will utilize modern, highly efficient industrial turbines, fueled by natural gas. The station would have an operating lifespan of at least 30 years and include a power generation facility and switchyard. In total, it'll provide power to 900,000 homes in Alberta, water to the facility will be trucked. Two-lane roads will also be built of asphalt from the station to the closest main road. |
