PROJECT INFORMATION | For decades, Egypt's secondary schools have been divided into two pathways- general schools and technical schools, the latter of which very rarely send students to higher education. In this process, most students assigned to technical schools lose much of the education that makes citizens beneficial contributors to the nation financially and politically. This program will revitalize facilities and curriculums for technical schools across all of Egypt, essentially upgrading them to not only host more developed technical courses but also 'essential citizenship' courses including basic government and politics, personal finances, and basic economics, among many others. All of these new courses will be made available to a greater quantity of students by expanding the physical facilities available across the nation for technical students. The objective of this expansion is to not only increase opportunities available for secondary technical school students to learn and participate as citizens, but also to increase the human capital of Egypt through increased skills for an increased number of men and women entering the workforce after they finish their secondary education. |
