| PROJECT INFORMATION | A large plot of land in the outskirts of Addis Ababa would be acquired by the national state for the development of a new industrial park. It will cover an area of 600km2. An industrial park is an area zoned and planned for the purpose of industrial development. The area would be divided, cleared, fenced off and security would be provided, together with the construction of dedicated internal and access roads and railway connection with its own cargo terminal. Multiple parking buildings would be build for workers and personnel, as well as amenities (food courts, primary emergency centers, police and fireman station etc) High-demand water and electricity connections would also be installed giving the new industries and factories access to stable services. Tax grants and special reductions would be offered for all industries and companies that operate in the industrial park. It is expected that this new project will attract national and international interest and increase the industrial capacity of Ethiopia, lower operating costs for companies and reduce environmental hazard by making monitoring easier through localization, while creating more jobs in the private manufacturing sector and giving a general growth to the national economic activity. |
