This low income areas consist mostly of improvised low quality housing with no access to electricity, water and sewage in some extreme cases. This program would consist in conducting a census to establish the exact amount of people inhabiting these sectors and to draw a plan to open streets and provide public services to these relegated places. At the same time, the improvised dwellings would be demolished and replaced with housing blocks. These would be assigned to the preivously registered residents and provided with very accesible long term payment plans. This project is expected to improve the quality of life and access to the labor market of up to 150,000 people in the city. |
