| PROJECT INFORMATION | The Congo Aerial Project is a project to produce three dedicated airforce airfields to cover the entire country and house its over 100 fixed-wing aircraft. Alpha Field "The Nest"- Located near Longendangondo, Alpha Field is the smallest of the three airfields. With a capacity of just forty aircraft, it is built into the Congo Jungle in the center of the country. Its main role is as a defensive foothold that can quickly reach across the entirety of the country, as well as from the Atlantic to Pacific coasts of Africa, allowing wide-ranging access to the central African region. With a length of 8,000 feet, most military aircraft can land and take off from here. The aircraft will be stored in large open-air hangars. Basic fuel storage and repair capabilities are present. Only resupplied by air. Beta Field "The Cliff"- Located along the northernmost bend of the Ubangi river on the Central African Republics border, this airfield has a capacity of 80 aircraft and is designed to expand the DRC's influence into the north of Africa. Away from all roads and major communities, it is only resupplied by air. Aircraft are stored in large Open-Air hangars. There is storage for munitions and fuel, as well as a more advanced capability for field repair of aircraft. There are two airstrips, one at 9,000 feet and one at 6,000 feet. Charlie Field "The Perch"- Located outside of Kimbanseke, Charlie Field is the largest of the three airfields, with the capacity for over 160 aircraft to be fully enclosed hangars. There are extensive storage areas for munitions, and fuel is piped in from the city. There are full facilities for repair and inspection of aircraft, and four airstrips are provided: One 6,000 foot one, Two 8,000 foot ones, and One 12,000 foot airstrip. This base is also supplied directly from the city with specialty parts coming from the nearby capital. |
