PROJECT INFORMATION	The Jakhau Naval Base is an initiative to project power and ensure sea-lane security within the Arabian Sea and along the Pakistani EEZ, as this will be India's northernmost naval base. Situated 12 km from Jakhau, this instillation will serve as a primary logistics, maintenance, and replenishment node. The facility is engineered to provide comprehensive support for a permanent fleet of up to 12 surface combatants while maintaining the capacity to service heavy-replenishment vessels. Infrastructure The waterfront will be anchored by three reinforced double-sided jetties, providing six primary berths. Operational Capacity: Through standardized side-by-side double-banking protocols, the facility will accommodate up to 12 docked vessels. Vessel Compatibility: Berths and approach channels are engineered to support high-displacement vessels, up to and including Deepak-class fleet tankers. Hydraulic Engineering: Extensive capital dredging will be executed to establish a deep-draft approach channel and a high-diameter turning basic, ensuring safe navigation from the Arabian Sea under all tidal conditions. Logistics To ensure fleet readiness, the base will function as a self-contained replenishment centre: POL Infrastructure: Installation of standard hardened Petrol, Oil, and Lubricant (POL) tank farms for high-volume refuelling. Ordnance Storage: Construction of a Type II Munitions Magazine, providing secure, climate-controlled storage for fleet ballistics and missile systems, built in semi-bunker neighbourhoods, surrounded by dirt grounds to prevent extensive damages if fire or explosion occurs. Maintenance: A Level II Intermediate Maintenance Activity (IMA) facility will be established. This industrial hub will provide repair capabilities, including modular engine swaps, advanced electronics calibration, and mid-tier hull maintenance. Command, Control, and Security The administrative and security heart of the base will be situated roughly 1 km inland to provide a protective buffer and operational oversight. C4I Centre: A dedicated Command Building will house secure communication suites, featuring integrated SIPR/NIPR network architecture for encrypted joint-force coordination. Fleet Support Centre: A centralised hub to manage vessel logistics, crew rotations, and shore-to-ship services. Force Protection: The Installation will be enclosed by a multi-layered security perimeter, including reinforced fencing, biometric-controlled gatehouses, and advanced waterfront physical security systems for subsurface and surface threat detection. Personnel & Garrison Support The base will provide permanent stationing for 900 naval personnel. Residential Complex: Construction of three modern barracks building designed for high-density, high-readiness living. Support Facilities: The garrison footprint includes all necessary ancillary structures for life support, including medical stations, mess halls, stores, bars, and administrative offices to ensure sustained operational moral and efficiency.
