PROJECT INFORMATION | Royal Italian Armed Forces Staff Headquarters, or "the Triskelion" for short, is to be the public headquarters for the civilian and military administration of the Royal Italian Armed Forces. Containing offices for several thousand individuals, meeting rooms, briefing rooms, and situation rooms on several floors, and 8 food courts offering high-quality meals for those working within the building, each offering regional and national delicacies from across Italy. The building also contains several command centers, including one built in a secure facility beneath the offshoot building, which contains rooms designed to delivering utilities to the entire building, including power, heating and air, as well as serving the massive water and sewage needs of such a massive structure. The building is outfitted with state-of-the-art fire suppression systems, blast-proof windows, automatic or remote-controlled fire doors designed to contain a blaze while offering a safe and quick exit for staff near the vulnerable area, and built with reinforced concrete and cut stone, capable of withstanding a blast from most non-penetrating ordnance, as well as maintaing structural integrity even if it were to be hit by the equivalent of a Boeing 777. This building is located on an island just outside of rome, in the River Tiber, and contains provisions for future SAM sites, docking facilities for barges and riverine patrol craft, a garage, and a helipad on the roof for important personnel. |
