| PROJECT INFORMATION | The Japanese National Research Institute will oversee the development, funding, and research of new technologies for the State of Japan. The NRI will advertise the need for a particular military asset. Companies will then send initial designs. If the NRI finds a design worthy, they will further fund the project. Participating companies must apply for bidding privileges and then be throughly vetted by the Japanese government. Accepted companies are subject to random audits by the government to ensure compliance and deter espionage. Civilian technologies are more open and do not have the scrutiny of defense programs, although civilian companies are totally isolated from any military assets. |
