PROJECT INFORMATIONThe National Intelligence Agency is Japan's domestic and foreign intelligence gathering service. The headquarters is located in Tokyo. The existence of the agency is public but very little is known about their operating procedures or the layout of their facility.

The facility itself is a large office-like building within Tokyo, however the windows are very small and all visibility from the outside in to the building is blocked off. Security at the entrance requires passing through a metal detector to a set of doors that can only be opened from the inside, requiring 24 hour staff to operate the door. Cameras of varying lens type - infrared, day/night, etc. are present around the building, at the door-entrance area, and within the building. The door to the entrance is bullet and blast proof. Outside the entrance are remote-deployable anti-crash barricades that can rise up from the ground. Motion sensors are also deployed throughout the building. Once inside the building, a keycard and numeric passcode are required to enter different zones based on the security access level of the card holder. Each morning at the security briefing located at the entrance of the building, each clearance level group of personnel are given the daily numeric passcode for their level of security clearance. High security clearance personnel are given longer codes. Each door requires the combination of the key card and passcode to pass through the door.

The agency facilities allow for monitoring of all forms of communications channels within Japan and those abroad that have been linked into the system. Office space as well as training facilities are located inside the building.
