PROJECT | Port Chiba Shipyard Facilities Expansion |
PROJECT COST | 2,000,000,000.00 |
COMPLETION DATE | 11/07/2020 |
PROJECT INFORMATION | Port Chiba is Japan's largest seaport. This project aims to expand Port Chiba's infrastructure for the construction and repair of ships. As the main Port of Chiba facilities are largely full, this expansion will purchase much of the unused coastline in front of Futtsu for the purpose of creating this expansion facility. The facility will be operated under the Port Chiba Corporation, a wholly state-owned corporation. Part of the construction is the erection of a massive warehouse covering one of the Shipyards whereby ships can be secretly built and/or developed. The facility includes warehouses for parts, equipment, and all other machines and needs necessary for the efficient construction and maintenance of ships. This facility will be open to commercial ships from any nation in need of maintenance while operating in Japanese waters. The ship building expansion will serve Japanese shipbuilding industry. Corporations can rent shipyard berths to construct ships in and around the valuable Chiba port. These facilities are large enough to construct the largest classes of ships, with one shipyard built to be able to build and maintain ships as large as an aircraft carrier. |
