PROJECT INFORMATION | The X-26 Grot is Poland's attempt at designed and building an entirely domestic built multirole fighter to further reduce the foreign requirements in Poland's defense industry. Designed as a 4th generation multirole fighter, the aim of the project is to incorporate radar absorbing materials and coating to minimize radar cross-section, utilize advanced shaping techniques for reduced infrared and visual signatures, and integrate active and passive countermeasures to enhance survivability. It is the hopes of the R&D project to utilize the purchased license to utilize the F-100-220 engine from the United States and develop the intake and exhaust of the engines to allow a high thrust and low-observable engine to promote stealth characteristics while also improving speed and maneuverability of the aircraft. It is designed to utilize Russian equipment already in service within the Polish Royal Air Force.
