PROJECT INFORMATION	The Clean Water & Sanitation for All (CWSA) program is a nationwide infrastructure and public health initiative to deliver universal access to safe drinking water and modern sanitation in the former North. This project will eradicate waterborne diseases, reduce child mortality, and lay the foundations for modern public health and urban development. By combining urban water treatment plants, rural well-digging, sewage treatment, and community sanitation education, CWSA aims to raise living conditions to South Korean standards within a decade. Objectives: Ensure 95% of the population has reliable access to safe drinking water by 2009. Build/upgrade urban water treatment plants in Pyongyang, Hamhung, Chongjin, Sinuiju, and Wonsan Replace pit latrines and open sewage with hygienic sewerage networks in major cities Install modern wastewater treatment plants in at least 8 major urban centers Drill deep wells and install water pumps in 10,000+ rural villages Build small-scale bio-septic sanitation units in rural schools and clinics. Launch a hygiene awareness program in schools and workplaces Train local sanitation workers for long-term maintenance
